Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry you had to go through that! I know JUST how scary it can be- because I'm one of the LOVELY AND LUCKY ones that lives in Tornado Alley...and every spring we always get at least one, REALLY bad storm.
My parent's are storm spotters too, so 99% of the time, when a really bad storm comes through our area, they're called out to DRIVE through it. That's usually when I start going into ZOMG!panic mode...grab my stuff, stick it in my bag, and come with them. Because, THERE IS NO WAY THAT I AM STAYING AT HOME, BY MYSELF, WHEN A STORM THAT HAS ALREADY PRODUCED A TORNADO IS HEADING STRAIGHT FOR ME.
There was a really bad one that came through a few years ago, on Friday the 13th of all days. Here's a video someone took of it:
CLICK!
When it started getting really bad, my parents dropped my sister and I off at the church and we took cover in on of their restrooms with a class of about 12 three year olds. That was an experience I will NEVER forget. >__>
I think that more than one tornado touched down that day- and I remember that at least one guy died because he was out standing by this stack of wood or something and the wind was so strong that it blew it over and it crushed him to death. >__>
NO ONE MOVE TO TEXAS! IT'S EVIL!
