I'm back from my first trip to DL and DCA and boy I can't wait to go back!!!!
The crowds on Saturday (11/24) were smaller that I expected so we weren't feeling overwhelmed. We did the Discover the Magic Tour and it was a blast!
Our family of 4 was the only group on the tour so it was like having a private tour. The end of the tour was fantastic and the girls really had a great time. Our guides were fantastic and I would do the tour again.
The Holiday Tour was interesting but the dh and dd's were a bit bored. The seats for the parade were nice but for our visit the parade came from the wrong direction. There were 3 different groups for that tour and the other 2 groups missed the very beginning of the parade. They didn't miss much but I wouldn't have been too happy to miss any of it considering how much it cost.
Sunday we spent most of the time in DCA and it wasn't crowded at all. Our big excitement for the day was when we were chosen to be the first family for the Tower of Terror.
We signed our names in the book and carried the rope down the street to the Hollywood Tower Hotel. We got be first to ride and had the whole experience to ourselves. The whole family couldn't stop smiling.
That is until we rode the Grizzly River Run. We got so soaked, we had to go back to the hotel to change clothes. I didn't think my jeans would ever dry.
Monday we hopped back and forth between the two parks catching a couple of must do rides that we had missed and riding our favorites again. We finally caught the fireworks and really enjoyed them. I would love to get a video of the show. One time when trying to get into DCA we were told we should have gotten our hands stamped when we left DL. We had 3-day park hopper tickets but the CM said that didn't matter, we still needed a hand stamp. We didn't have problems prior to that going from one park to the other without a handstamp.
I had the honor of spotting Albort during our visit to the parks and would have loved to chatted with him. but the family had already gotten in line for the next ride and they would have left me behind. Beside he had a customer he needed to assist.
Now it time for my feet to recover and my body to return to Pennsylvania time until I can find a way to return to DL.
