We got her on Sat and she's 6 months old. She's big for her age. She's very friendly and my kids just love her. Once she started getting used to her new home, she's just been following us all over the house. I was beginning to worry about her because she wouldn't eat or eliminate herself all day Sat. She finally went to the litter box yesterday morning around 6am. She finally ate a little bit around 3. She stayed under my bed all day Sat and part of yesterday. She came out for a few minutes and then she would go back into hiding. Once she finally came down to nibble, she was back and forth from upstairs to down. She looked so cute this morning sitting in my bathroom watching me curl my hair. I was trying to post a picture but I'm having a hard time getting it to work.

AWWW that's so sweet!
That's what happened with the first cat we got. He was about 10 months old and he FREAKED OUT when we brought him home. He was the only pet at the time but he's really skiddish as I've learned. He hid for like a week. He didn't seem to really want to be around us because I guess he didn't trust us. I started having second thoughts but gave him a chance. He's a lot better now, but he still doesn't like too much company. He also just likes to observe, not be handled.
When we get the other two, they didn't really care about hiding, they just made themselves at home. It did take a while for them to get along, but they all get along now, as you can see from my siggy pic!

Awww congratulations!!! Please post a picture of your kitty when you get a chance! :cloud9:

And Becka0321 your picture is the SWEETEST thing!!!

beck0321- Maya looks just like the orange and white tabby in your siggy. I'm still going to work on this picture.

OH YAY! That's so cute!!!! :)
You really do need to post a picture!
My orange one is named Bengal, and everytime I see a tabby that has his face, I always point out to DH "Look he has a Bengal face!!!!" and then DH is just like "yes, he does..." :rotfl:
Bengal is such a baby. We had to suddenly go out of town this weekend (well it was just for one night). I think he is still kind of mad at us, he has seperation anxiety. This morning he was just STARING at me as I was getting ready to leave. It was like he wanted to say "So, you're going to leave me AGAIN?!" It was making me feel REALLY guilty!
Oh yeah, and he LOVES to watch me blowdry my hair. (reminds me of how Maya likes to watch you fix your hair) :goodvibes

Congratulations. A house is not a home without a cat.

Congratulations on your new kitty! :thumbsup2

I have three cats and they bring me a lot of joy. May you have many wonderful years with Maya. Be sure to post a pic every now and then. :goodvibes
