We Got Our Ressie!


Called first thing this morning and actually started trying to call before 9 AM- didn't get through til about 9:04 and then so many prompts and automation went through all that then told wait time is 2 min- and music that was real scratchy- (going in and out like connection bad) that made me nervous- then a message came on saying wait time longer than usual... I was like "Oh No!" and after about 1 minute more, I got through- MS got on the line- she was so very helpful- I told her it was my first Ressie and I was nervous- (really, I had butterflies in my stomach and my hands were shaking) Well, of course, she soothed me and giggled nervously with me and had the high pitch in her voice like me- LOL She made me feel great! & even when she had to put me on hold- (I was nervous we would be disconnected) Everything worked out! We got our 2 BR vacation home @ SSR for Spring Break! For us that is today 7 mos fromnow... April 12th and we will only be staying through 16th- gotta rest up at home before work- LOL But everything we wanted- I love it! Just had to post my excitement-

I know exactly how you felt - I was the same way when I called MS for the first time I kept thinking what if I'm really calling on the wrong day and they get "mad" at me - LOL

Now I wonder - do they have caller ID? I can just hear them - Oh no, it's her again

Your post makes me feel so good! I too was a nervous wreck when I made my first reservation and then was on cloud nine when I got what I wanted. Then it was nervous anticipation and fanatically marking the calendar until the day finally arrived. After that was sheer bliss which I still have every time we visit.

I'm glad everything worked the way you wanted it to.

At least you're in the same time zone. For us, I have to be up early to make our reservations. My family laughs when I tell them I have to be up at 4AM to make ADRs for Cinderella's Royal Table or Fireworks cruise.

Aww! You allmake me feel good- LOl I am still somewhat nervous- This is due to the fact that she said I wouldn't have a confirmation for about 15 days- I asked her if that meant we could possibly lose our ressie if someone else called and was actually able to get confirmation at the same time- She assured me "No"- We definitely have the reservation and nothing can take it away- But because it is a developer points ressie they can't do a confirmation until it is listed in the system and she said it can take awhile- Until I get the confirmation I have to admit, I will be nervous! LOL Especially for the time we are trying to go- I figured it would be very busy and possibly booked before I called- But thanks so much for the warm fuzzies! I needed that to calm me down a bit- I do feel like I am flying high on cloud nine but with a very small weight attached- LOL So I will be checking snail mail and e-mail constantly until it comes- LOL

Congrats! I'm new like you and I too wanted that confirmation number. It does take a while but you can believe then when they say that you got the space. They are right about the time frame for a developer point ressie to generate a confirmation number- about 10 days.
Now, I'm down to only three weeks for my first DVC stay at SSR!!!

The really cool thing is those butterflies in your stomach never go away. They change from being nervous to being extremely excited. Each time I book a vacation with MS I enjoy the experience. They are the best!

Now start the fun of counting down the vacation time...

Congrats! it makes me feel better to know being nervous is normal! We closed on Tuesday and are counting down our 10 day wait for our names to be in the system so I can call and try to book spring break.

I made my first reservation today, I told the CM right up front that this was my first time calling and to be patient with me She was very nice.
I booked the SSR with my developer points for 11/17-11/21, and when she told me it would take about 15 days to get my confirmation I asked if I could go ahead and make my airline reservations. She told me yes, that I had a confirmed reservation but with the delveloper points it takes a while to get the confirmation #. I guess they are pretty used to us newbies asking that same question.

I don't know how to do multiple quote posts but just wanted to thank everyone for making me feel even more assured than earlier- Yeah, I think these butterflies ain't goin' no where- LOL But that's okay- I love butterflies! Disneyistheone- Thx so much, your experience has made me feel all the better- I was really nervous that I'd find my ressie had been bumped due to other ressie's being made by "home owners" at SSR and other long term members- Now, not to say that I wouldn't expect a ressie at my home resort or other after being a long term member, but, just the same I am glad to know mine is set! and for any owners and long term members, if you didn't get what ya wanted today, I is sowwy* I think everyone should get their choice when calling- LOL I hope we never experience waitlisting, adjusting vacation time due to availability, cancellations, bookings not actually going in correctly causing ressie to not actually be booked... (saw a post that this happened to someone)

Pixie dust to all & I am now even excited to see if I spot a Dis-ser on vacation! LOL Strange huh, try to scope the vacationer who could possibly be one of the Dis squad... But I am, just as big an attraction as WDW now!

Try and call your Guide to get your ressie's now- I remember mine saying I could make my ressie right then if I wanted (as we were on the phone and making DP)- I think they can help you to do it from their post rather than calling MS or something- as long as it is 7 mos window and staying at approved developer point use area- We had to wait until 12th for 7 mos but he did say to call him when we were ready to make ressie- (I told him I had to get w/ DH to decide when would be best,he said well, you are ready to book now if you know when) Just call and check- would be a shame if 10 days made ya miss out on time ya needed- have you received your paperwork yet? If you have your member # you can do it w/ MS now-

It apparently is in "real time." I had the page up in front of me when I called to make a change and as soon as the CM told me it was done I refreshed the page and there it was!
