We got a resale!

Well, here's a real surprise! We took a shot at a resale at OKW back around Valentine's Day. Deal was 150 points and a Feb use year. They were asking $68/point and we bid $67, which the sellers accepted. I'd been kicking myself ever since because it was just after that that everyone was reporting that Disney was doing ROFR on everything below $71. I figured we surely would lose the deal. AND it's been a good 6 weeks without a word.

Anyway, we just received closing papers by fax, so apparently we got it. All 2003 points available and a very few banked over from 2002.

I'd heard earlier that they were more likely to let the deals go through if you were already a DVC member. Maybe there's something to that. (We already own at BWV).

Congratulations! I don't know about the letting it go through if you already own DVC though, because we already owned at WLV and ours did not go through--very similiar to yours as well, but with an APril use year and only 100 points.

Between the resale points that have to be used this year (a few banked from 2002) and the 2004 borrowed points that have to be used because family members backed out of a trip, I guess we have a vacation in our near future!!

Congratulations, I've said I think Disney has enough points now and is waiting until they sell the ones they have.

Yes, we paid closing costs around $420 and we paid dues on the 2003 points. we did not pay anything on the 37 banked 2002 points.

My big problem now is using up the points!

thanks mikesmom...........and congrats on the resale. I'm trying to decide on a small add-on at either HH or BCV and whether or not to go resale. (for the HH) We bought VB last year on resale and got a bargain. I think we'll make up our minds after we visit BCV.

Sorry for the long wait for Disney's approval though. We have purchased and/or sold 8 contracts, all requiring Disney ROFR review, and never had to wait more than a week. The last two transactions were last year before summer - not along wait at all.
