We don't wanna go home!!! Nov 1-8, 2008 Magic Western

We actually had a little wait, I was SHOCKED!! I thought no one would be here- but it turns out lots of people like to do something other than ride TOT once in a while.:goodvibes We chose the course with all the mini-golfish attributes, although I believe the other course looks very challenging in a more golf kind-of-way.

Funny (really, not so funny) thing about DS9 and mini golf- if he gets a hole in one, he is a happy, happy player. But if he doesn't, especially if DS11 has, he is one miserable kid. So when we're playing, DH and I are just praying the kid gets that hole in one. A little more than half way through the game, he did. What a relief!!

At the end, there is a water feature, DS9 got drenched- which was a very good thing!

2008_110906summer0199.jpg

To the side of FG, there is this building- anyone know when it is used?

2008_110906summer0200.jpg

At the end of the game, we were all given Mickey golf balls, which I thought was a nice touch. Next, we were heading to Beaches & Cream for lunch. As many times as my family has stayed at the BC, we have NEVER eaten here!:sad2: What were we thinking?

2008_110906summer0201.jpg

We all had burgers except DS9 who had a kids hot dog-

2008_110906summer0202.jpg

2008_110906summer0203.jpg

While very tasty, that is not why we came. We came, of course, for the ICE CREAM!!!

2008_110906summer0204.jpg

Now, I'm sure you know the BIG dessert here to have is the kitchen sink. Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not what we had. But while we were there, the table of 4 next to us ordered 2 of them!!!!!:scared1: And they FINISHED them!! Woah....

Ds11 got a banana split-

2008_110906summer0205.jpg

2008_110906summer0206.jpg

And DH & I split a No way Jose. O.M.G. I have been jonesin for this one since I first saw it on the DIS last December. Nothing says yummy in my tummy like peanut butter and chocolate. And this? This is one of the very BEST desserts EVER!!!!

2008_110906summer0207.jpg

A great lunch- and we were now all past our cruise blues!!!:yay: :dance3: :woohoo: We were genuinely smiling again!! DH & DS11 drove the car back to BWV, while DS9 and I went for a walk across the lake instead. It's just so pretty here.:cloud9:

Cont'd in the next post-

Oh, Ellen, I am getting all teary eyed thinking that it is over!!!!! Please, more, more, more. I just love your report. Makes me think I am actually back there.

Thank-you-:flower3: I wish there were more, more, more, but unfortunately this was not a BTB!! Maybe you could organize everyone into a letter writing campaign, directed at my DH, as to why we MUST do BTB instead of 7 days that go too, too fast!:rotfl:

aww its over already LOL.....cant wait to hear the last few hours.

and btw only awesome people are born on Nov 7th... LIKE ME! :) lol

You should do DCL on your bDay- they'd bring YOU a mountain of cake!! (mine is Nov 29th, BTW).

I'm so glad you get to have a few days in WDW - that would get my vote, such a softer landing than getting on a plane and heading home - when you leave the ship it's like - "bye-bye, now get your bags and GET OUT!" :guilty: It would feel so much better to stay in the magic for a day or two.

::yes:: I concur in spades!

I had DMom read your report and I think she is almost as excited as I am!
I would love you there to influence my trip since you seem to have the secret to the perfect vacation but I just saw that you're going in October 2010 so I doubt you would be going again in early December 2010. Well I will jsut have to use your TR's as a guide to vacation heaven. :cloud9:

I read this to my DS9 before school this morning- he is very impressed someone is reading his Mom's TR to her Mom! :thumbsup2

I have loved this TR so much! DH and I were discussing things we could do for my b-day this year (it's between big b-days but, still significant!). The first thing that came to mind was a Disney Cruise! He said we could discuss this idea further (I've been reading him snippets from your TR!).

So sad it's over but, can't wait to see what you guys got up to at WDW!

I promise we'll all be smiling and happy again, shortly. I think we all got a lot out, yelling at DH for being too happy on the way to Disney.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He was probably just focusing on the fact that the wild spending spree was almost over!:lmao:

Oh my that strawberry cake looked so yummy!!!

Wish I could offer you and your baby a bite!:goodvibes

I haven't even been on a cruise yet and I'm getting teary thinking about the end!! You have inspired me to definitely write a TR when I get back from my honeymoon.

YAY!!!! Can't WAIT to read it!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

"You know what it is, about the cruise that made it so hard for me to leave? Yes, it was a great vacation, but I am lucky enough to be able to say I have had lots of those. It was the fact that, as Mom, or even DW, I am always the Cruise Director- I decide where we eat on vacation, what we eat, when we eat- I arrange the activities, I arrange the transportation, I take care of all the little details that make it magical for my family. But on this cruise...well, Brent was the CD! I was OFF!!! All those decisions were off my plate AND someone tidied my room everyday and gave me chocolates on my pillow at night. We were told when and where we were eating, and it was awesome! Someone I trusted and really liked told my family what we would like to eat. All the planning for what to do was either arranged before I ever even saw the ship, or taken care of once we got on by someone else with oodles more knowledge than me. I just had to show up and start having a grand old time. I was totally pampered and spoiled"

I agree. No fights about where we're eating or trying to find the place, everything is right there for our enjoyment! :wizard: Well put:thumbsup2

We actually said it was the boys bdays since E was gonna and missed there bdays, thank god there was 8 of us to split that cake it was jinormous LOL

oh and the 29th is my Anniversary... I knew I liked you! LOL

I concure, totally felt like you, when we had to leave,... i kept stalling us LOL

So sad it has come to an end!!!

Thanks for such a MAGICal report!!!

Ok- where was I? Oh! DS9 and I decided to walk over to BWV while the other 2 men drove over. I really, really love that Epcot resort area.

We were heading for the clown pool- very excited to try something new! I had a TM from Camster0607, we just missed each other! She was at Epcot. But we were going to hook up tonight, so I knew I'd see her then. The DSs couldn't wait to check out that Keister Koaster- it was a blast!!

They liked this slide MUCH better than the one at AKV- I hope the new pool there has a slide that's more thrilling for them!

I need to upload more photos- so if I have time I'll update tonight- otherwise...I'll see you when i get back from the USVI!!!:beach:

Seriously Ellen - I think I walked through the pool area that day. Probably walked right by you - which I'm thinking is a good thing: if I had seen you, we would have hung out by the pool, had a few drinks and then I never would have met up with my family at Epcot!

And it was such a gorgeous day, wasn't it?

The Boardwalk looks like sooooo much fun! We are planning to eat at the Flying Fish on our trip in May, so we'll get to visit the Boardwalk for the first time. I have to admit though....that clown slide creeps me out....I've got a thing about scary clowns! That being said, I think if I could try any of the Disney resorts, Boardwalk would be right near the top for me.

Looks like you guys had a great weather day! Perfect pool weather!

Ha!Ha! Alan - there is something creepy about that clown slide! You should see it at night! :scared:

Reminds of that Stephen King book "It"! :scared1: :scared1:

Ok Cali girl- I knew I liked YOU too! Nov 29th is your anniversary? A FABULOUS day in history!!! Now there are 2 great events to celebrate that day!:cheer2: And thanks for hangin' in for the WDW portion.:wave2:

It is very, VERY hard to get past those blues- just have to have a little pity party for a bit, and then look for that sun to shine again, right?!::yes::

So sad it has come to an end!!!

Thanks for such a MAGICal report!!!

You're welcome...but, I'm not done, quite yet! Please come back for more.:goodvibes ::yes::

I agree about the clown. But my kids loved it when we stayed there. And we loved the resort. It is one of my favorites because it is between our two favorite parks, EPCOT and HS! :flower3:

Oh...the tragedy! ( I don't mean about your family- I mean about us not hangin' by the pool all day laughing our butts off! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ) And I never would have made it to CG.... and THAT would have been a BIG tragedy, because it was spectacular!

The Boardwalk looks like sooooo much fun! We are planning to eat at the Flying Fish on our trip in May, so we'll get to visit the Boardwalk for the first time. It was GORGEOUS that day- could not have made it better in any way (unless I had stayed on the Magic- OOPS! I thought I was recovered! Oh well...a brief relapse! ). It was my first time at BWV- but, I am sure, not my last! It is a wonderful place. Once we checked in, I could NOT get over my view- it was fantastic! But I will elaborate at another time- it 's 7 degrees here in NJ- but 85 in St John...so I think I'll pick........:rotfl:

I loved that book- and I don't think I'm afraid of clowns (I have a cousin who is one-) but, I never saw it at night! Hmmmmmmmmm......

Yes, yes, yes! And that lobby? The most beautiful of them all, IMHO!

Ok- everyone singalong...

Oh, that is just creepy! :p I really don't like the looks of this pool! I do want to stay in this resort, just near the quiet pool. Oh, they probably don't have a bar, huh? Maybe if I have enough to drink, I'll learn to like the clown!:thumbsup2
