We did it!!

Well, we went ahead and reserved a room for our stay March 26-April 1!!! We are staying at Best Western Lakeside. We just want a place to lay our sleepy heads and possibly spend a day or two by the pool. Some of the reviews I read were pretty good so we booked it and got a really good deal. $33/night! We can cancel no problem as well up to the day before arrival - I called directly to make sure - just in case my work does give me a really hard time about it. They always threaten to cancel my vacations - did it in 2009 and 2010 - but then at the last minute always say "Its OK now - have fun".

We will be driving. We'll be leaving the Thursday night/Friday morning and stopping for the Friday night and arriving sometime in the evening on the Saturday. Just gotta decide what route we plan on taking so I can book a room about 1/2 way. DH and I will take turns driving but we don't want to push ourselves too much. Our daughter (6 years old) will be with us after all. And while she's really good in the car, I don't want to press my luck with her.

Anyway, I'm super excited now. I just have to remember not to let work drive me crazy. They pull the same stuff on everyone and the 3 years I've worked there I've never seen them actually cancel someone's vacation yet - regardless of what is going on at the office.

We are staying there for one night this Friday before going to POFQ for our Grand Gathering.

We truly like this hotel. You received an excellent rate. I booked for $40 something for one night and I thought that was an awesome deal. We have been staying here the night before our Disney vacations in 2009 and 2010. We like that there is swimming and a mini-golf course that is not too challenging for everyone in our family. It is close to Disney World too, and has much around it.

One hint if you have never stayed here before is don't go to the Ci Ci Pizza place that is within walking distance. Last year we tried it and will never return. In 2009 we had excellent Pizza Hut pizza made right at the resort and we will hopefully be doing that again on Friday if we arrive in time. As well, we like hitting the Golden Corral just a few minutes down the road for breakfast.

Its looking more and more positive for us. They are doing interviews tomorrow so hopefully they'll have someone hired and I can get training and be back at my old job in the next couple of weeks. Two months from now I'll be in Orlando!!
