We did another "pack & run" trip toWDW!
I'm getting good at this!
DH was away on business the kids did not have school on Monday. He called me from his trip on Saturday and said, " Want to go to Disney for a couple of days?!?!?!" After 28 years of marriage, I can tell when he is joking...... and he was not joking this time. He was ready to board the airplane to come home and so I told him to call me the minute "cell phones were approved for use."
So.......... in 15 minutes, I had airfare (online) and ressies at CRO. I told the kids that we had 49 minutes to (literally) throw stuff into a suitecase and be out the door to the airport. We actually has a maximum of 65 minutes but 49 sounded better and it gave me some buffer time.
We made it out the door in 67 minutes. I was the one that was late but I was also the driver and it was not hard to make up 2 minutes on a 90-minutes trip to the airport. (It also helped that it was not peak travel time on the roads.)
DH callled me just as I was leaving the house. His task was to get some cash and find transporation at WDW. Andy from FL tours came thru for us again (thanks, Andy!!!).
DH met us at curbside check-in, grabbed the kids & the luggage while I parked. We were checked-in and thru security in slightly under 3 hours of DH's phone call.
During our flight home, I mentally took note of the things I forget:
DS's toothbrush
batteries for the WDW mister fan
my swimsuit (however, that was really a planned mental lapse)
disposable bibs & tableware for 2 yr old DGD.
my traditional WDW sun visor
my WDW water bottle strap
Not bad, IMHO!
We had everything else we needed for MSSSHP, including DGD Princess costume, and rain ponchos (but we didn't need them). It didn't rain even one drop until we were headed back to the airport.
Loved MSSSHP, especially the headless horseman down Main Street. DD and DGD loved the Trick-or-Treating.
Now, its back to the real world. It will take me longer than 49 minutes to do the laundry and unpack!
