I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a very productive weekend! Jasmine and I had a day of shopping planned on Saturday. I went to the salon to have my hair cut and colored at 9am and I no sooner got to the salon that Jas called and said she had to go to work! Our shopping day didn't start until I picked her up at 2pm, but we wasted no time in getting started! We decided we should start off with lunch so that's what we did....we went to one of our favorite restaurants in the city called Joey's....great way to start off our shopping afternoon!

Once we were finished lunch, we decided to hit Sally's...we both needed new brushes and Jasmine neededa new nail polish and top coat.

Then Jasmine took me to a little travel agency in the same mall to buy me my mother's day present.....I have wanted a Lug bag for as long as I can remember....gotta love the color don't ya The young girl that helped us could have done an infomercial on this particular bag. She said her boyfriend doesn't live here so she has to travel to see him every couple of weeks and said the puddle jumper is the only bag she takes. She went over every nook and cranny with me....I loved it. I was looking at the mini puddle jumper, but it was just too small...and they didn't have it in the right color

Jasmine's Hey's Train Case....in one of her favorite colours....tangerine!

The top part is great for all her glosses, lip liner, eye liner etc.....

I love the second compartment.....the dividers actually velcro in so if you have some bigger items, you just move the divider...genius, I same, sheer genius

Finally Jasmine had been in need of a new suitcase so she actually got this before she went on the cruise in February but I thought I would share it with you....we won't miss that on any carousel will we

That little shopping day should hold us over until we leave for the states on May 24!!!

There is a pocket on the side....I think it would fit my extra large double double Because we'll have the kitchen...Tim's coffee is the first thing on my list..and when we go to DTD for dinner on our first night...I'll be buying a nice big mug...the mugs are very small in the kitchens

Jas loves her train case.....I love that it has the hard exterior so it doesn't cave in like her last one!! The Hey's packing cubes are heavenly too!

Do you have somewhere around you that sells Hey's Luggage? We have one place here...it's a travel/clothing store. The girl was really funny....I think just her excitement got Jasmine thinking she wanted one too, but she does have a Lululemon bag that she loves, so she's sticking with that!!

Jasmine had a heck of a time picking a color for her case....they have some beautiful colors!! When she used the suitcase in February, she had no trouble finding it on the carousel...she said it was perfect!

There is a Timmies past security in Wpg, however, not past customs...we're on a different level so no Timmies for me.... We do have a small addiction don't we my friend

Okay! Okay! You win. We recently moved and this spring/summer I have to build a fence and a deck. I knew (from previous experience... don't ask) that I needed a better saw. I checked Winnipeg's Home Depot and found a good saw for $600 and a really good one for $800. I checked Lowe's in Grand Forks and they had the $800 saw for $600.

But wait, you cry. You said you saved $350 and that's only $200. True. But... I also would have had to buy a table support for the saw as well. At Winnipeg Home Depot the table was $230... at Lowe's it was free with the purchase of the saw... So instead of spending $1030 or even $830 for a not quite as good saw; I got the better saw and table for $600. Or a saving of $430. Factor in the duty and gas and it was about $350 saved on the purchase of one item. Ta dah!

Now aren't you sorry you asked?

The big shopping trip sounds fun. I go to Target all the time. I know someday my boys will figure out that boys don't like shopping, bus so far, they don't mind it.
