We crushed our schedule! A May 2011 TR (Completed and new TR started)

I don't want your report to end either! Great job with photos and details of your day.

I love the Main St Electrical Parade! Seeing it definitely brought me back to my childhood...
Dinner at Jiko looked yummy....especially the bread!! that is my weakness..:rotfl2:

AKL looks soo pretty - I would also love to stay there one day :cloud9:

I'm glad you enjoyed the food at Jiko - it all looks so yummy! A shame that you did not have the service to match.

Love the pics of MSEP and can't wait to see it for myself! Yeah on riding the two mountains in the dark - at someone passing out on Space Mountain.

I'm also sad to see your TR come to an end but can't wait for the next one!

Jiko looks very tasty! AKL seems like such a fun place. i need to make time to visit it next trip, for sure. glad you got to see MSEP!

Sorry to see this is your last installment Chaitali. I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Smart move getting there early to look around. You captured some nice pictures!

Great way to end a trip with a night at MK and catching the parade. Nice final pics of MSEP :thumbsup2

Joining in, sorry I'm late!

Will go back and comment...can't wait to hear how your trip went.:goodvibes

I LOVE your AKL photos! I had that same entree at Jiko, too, and I have to agree that it was awesome.

Yeah, I loved being able to see that parade because of the nostalgia factor. And the bread at Jiko was amazing. It felt a little weird to order the bread for an appetizer when we got free bread too, but it was worth it :)

AKL looked awesome. I think it would be a great place to stay one day. There seems to be a lot of stuff to do there also. Your trip is so close! I hope you have a great time. I look forward to reading your TR ;)

It was a bit far, but definitely worth checking out AKL. I thought it would take a long time to get there using the buses but it wasn't too bad at all.

Thanks :) I had a hard time getting good photos of the parade because I didn't have a tripod and my hands aren't all that steady!

Yummm... that entree was great. I loved the variety of tastes it offered. Thanks for the compliment about the photos :) I joined in on a photo safari at the botanical gardens around here not too long ago so I've been trying to keep in practice!

My October trip is coming together nicely. I can't believe it's only about 2 months away! This one has really crept up on me, mostly because things have been pretty busy. I've been applying for a new job and Mike and I are going to DragonCon over Labor Day weekend so we've been preparing for that. It's a Science Fiction convention in Atlanta. It's not my usual thing since I don't like crowds, but I'm giving it a try. It should also give me plenty of opportunity to take interesting photos!

So far, the October trip looks this.

Arrive on Sunday, October 23rd. We're staying at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in a 2 bedroom condo. It will just be me and my brother at first. We probably won't get to the hotel until 4:30 at the earliest so I doubt we'll go to a park this day. I think we'll just grab dinner (maybe at Downtown Disney) and try to go to the Poly to take photos of the MK fireworks. My brother is also into photography so I think we'll take advantage of it being just the 2 of us at the beginning and have a lot of photo time.

Monday is our Epcot day. Tuesday, we are going to the Halloween party in the evening. For costumes, I think I'm going to find a dress that sort of looks like Lilo's dress and a flower in my hair. I'll get my brother the Stitch hat and that should be relatively easy costumes for us. No firm plans for the day but my brother wants to do the zip line at Gator Land so we might try that. Wednesday, we're going to Hollywood Studios in the morning and we'll go to the airport to pick up my parents in the afternoon. Thursday is MK since it's my mom's favorite. Friday is a hang-out day so maybe mini golf and DTD. My mom mentioned she wanted to try baby cakes since she can rarely have baked goods (she doesn't eat eggs). My brother and I have tickets to La Nouba Friday night. Saturday is Animal Kingdom since my mom hasn't been there and Sunday is time to go home.

All caught up!

Love your TR and your photos are terrific! Nice job!

I like the picture of Mike kissing the lady statue at HM...particularly b/c the man statue next to him looks like he definitely does not approve and might even be trying to grab Mike!

I know what you mean about AstroOrbiter -- that is a tight fit!! I'm 6' and it is hard to get in with just me and my daughter!

Your photos of V&A are the first ones I've seen...and now if we can ever work it into our schedule, I want to go! Maybe I can convince DH to do for our 15th Wedding Anniversary.

You are very brave to wait 1 hour in that hot sun for the SW parade!

Sounds like you and Mike had a very good vacation and YAY for you to be able to go back in October!!!

Love the October plans! :thumbsup2

The costumes for MNSSHP sound simple and fun! Yay on going to see La Nouba!

La Nouba was one of the few things my brother really wanted to see and I've seen a couple Cirque du Soleil shows in the past that I've really liked, so I think this should be good :) I ended up getting tickets to the early show Friday evening so we should be able to have a late dinner and a drink at DTD after the show.

All caught up!

Thanks for the compliment about the photos! I love that photo at the HM with the statues too, I think it's hilarious :) I'm way past being a teenager but sometimes I can't but help act like one!

I haven't been here in a while since I got a new job last month and it's been taking up a lot of time :) I'm very excited to say that I am leaving for Disney World on Sunday! I'm meeting my brother at the airport Sunday afternoon and then we'll pick up the rental car and drive to the Sheraton Vistana. My parents will get into town Wednesday afternoon and meet us at the hotel. We'll all leave for the airport together on the following Sunday. I plan to take lots of photos (as does my brother) so I plan to start a trip report once I get back.

:woohoo: on leaving on Sunday!!! I'm a bit jealous! :lmao:

Looking forward to seeing all the photos and reading the new trip report.

Great report! We were there from the 18th - 26th. It got hotter as the weeken went on I thought. Looking forward to more updates!

Ok, better late than never! I've finally started my trip report for the trip I took with my parents and brother in October. It's only 2.5 months later :) In my defense, I had a new job taking up some of my energy.

The link is in my signature. I hope to see you guys there!

Really enjoyed your May report. Beautiful pictures and informative posts!

Thank you :) I tried to provide the information that I would want to read about. I hope I can do the same with the trip report about my October trip!
