:sad2: This was the earliest that we have closed the pool, but this has been the coolest summer and the coldest fall. Usually we keep it open until the 3rd week in October and have some nice days to use it. The forecast for rain and cool weather made us decide to end the season early. I am glad we did. We had frost this morning. I am sad because we may be moving and I may not get to see it opened again or at least not be able to spend another summer with it. We have had a lot of good memories with our pool.

We don't have a pool...but my dad does. He hasn't officially winterized it and put the cover on it, but it is now about 65 degrees...so obviously we won't be getting in it. We are in TN, and about 2 or 3 years ago we had the pool open until the 1st week of Nov..and it was still above 72 degrees. A little too cold for me, but my dad still swam in it. Last year we closed it up about the week before Halloween, and this year is even earlier.

C'mon down to the Keys Dawn! I'll lend you a bikini (hope String is OK). :thumbsup2

I will skip the bikini but the Keys sound wonderful. It is cold here. I usually resist turning on the heat until November 1st, but I bumped it up for 10 minutes this morning when I got up. Brrrr!

CHICKEN! (some of us don't even wear the bikini):thumbsup2

I know exactly what you mean... we are in upstate NY and we don't usually close our pool this early either-I really enjoy watching the water even though we aren't using it now. I made a bet with my neighbor-who always keeps his pool open till the snow starts flying, that I'd beat him this year. Well he closed his pool yesterday- I guess that means mine will be done this weekend. ;)

I don't think you really got a summer this year, did you?

It was 30 degrees in Albany NY this morning. If the pool was still open it would have been a skating rink!

We have a screened in porch that leads to a patio. I absolutely DREAD closing it for the winter. I feel I have given into the cold when I do. They face west so we can extend the season a little, but it is just about time I face the truth that summer is over :(
