We closed on our lot in Florida!

I really want to share my exciting good news with my WISH family! As many of you may know, my DH, Barry retired last year & we are planning to move from very cold CT to warm sunny FL! We closed on our lot in FL by mail on Thursday! I can't believe we are really doing this!
We will be putting our condo here in CT on the market in March & moving to FL once we close on the sale of the house here. Once we get to FL, we will then sit down with the builder & go over the design for our new house in FL so they will be able to start building. It's really exciting, but also a little scary because I have never lived anywhere else but this part of CT. I have a lot of cleaning & packing to do around here in the next couple of months, but it will be worth it because it will be a dream come true for both of us!

Congratulations, that is indeed exciting news!!! Where in Florida will you be moving to? I lived in Groton for 3 years and this time of year I always got the itch to go to Florida to escape the weather in CT...just think soon you will be able to do it permenantly! Woo Hoo for you!

Wow! How wonderful for you! And after the weather we've had here this last week, I'm sure the move can't come soon enough!

A good friend of mine retired to FL from CT last May! Boy is she laughing at me now! But just wanted to let you know, she loves it! She and her DH lived here in Shelton for 30 yrs before relocating. They are in the Daytona Beach area and simply couldn't be happier. It was hard leaving their family, but now everyone has someone to go visit in beautiful, sunny, WARM Florida! What great news for you! CONGRATS!

Hi perfect.........I too will be moving down this summer.....I am 32, married and have four young children. I know how your feeling. I have been a new yorker since birth and its a bit scary. Anyway all our family is down there, and my father the only onbe besides us really wants to go but won;t because we are still here. Needless to say, we are all moving together. I on th other hand can;t make it so final. I won;t be selling my house just renting it out. We also go to Disney so much , it will be nice to be so close.

Thanks everybody for sharing our excitement! We will be moving to Leesburg, just north of Orlando. We plan to put our house on the market in March, & our moving date will be determined by when our buyer here wants to close. I have a lot of junk to clean out of here in the meantime, & I haven't been making very good progress lately. I think I'd better get moving soon because March is not very far away! I don't expect our house to be built until around this time next year because we are not going to do our design appointmtnt with the builder until after we move, & they can't start construction till we do that. At least this will be our last winter of this awful cold, snowy weather. I want to be like a bear & hibernate until it's time to go!
Katholyn, I absolutely love the idea of a housewarming DIS MEET! Once we get down there we will have to start planning! I can't think of a better way to start our lives in our new home!
