Thanks to ALL who answered my countless house related threads here lately - it all paid off!

On Saturday, after 7 hours of solid househunting with our realtor, we decided on the 1st house we looked at. We kept comparing everything else to it!

Here is a picture of the front of it, in process of being built:

Here is the 1st level floorplan:

And the 2nd:

The gameroom will stay empty until we figure out what we want to do with it and how to pay for it. We close either Oct 18th (night before we fly out for WDW) or right after we return. We'll have a few weekends before we have to move our stuff in to paint and lay tile. Yeah!

Just had to share!

Congratulations :cool1:. It looks huge!!
If you are in my neck of the woods, let me know if you need any help ::yes::.

Yay! I"m glad, and it looks nice. :)

Ok, the pics aren't there, but congratulations!

Congrats on purchasing your first home!

Just curious, how old are you?

quick suggestion-if you are getting tile installed (counter tops) consider hiring someone (or doing yourself) to put clear sealant on the grout. we've been in our home almost 7 years and this has made a big difference in the discoloration factor. we also popped to have 3 day blinds come out and measure and install for us (maybe charged $5.00 per window-BUT they guaranteed that the blinds would fit or they would replace them. they ended up replacing a very costly one that there was a minute error in calculation on).

oh yeah-we also had a carpet cleaning company come out and spray an extra couple of coats of scotch guard type stuff on carpets.

last suggestion-i promise! i don't know how it works in your area but in ours the builder had to provide a warranty for one year. we contacted a company (American Home Sheild) that we had a warranty under for our previous home (it was over 30 years old when we bought it). we were able to buy a warranty to pick up the day the builders ended. we pay a very low deductable (like $50) and they cover a myriad of things: heating/air, plumbing, electrical, appliances...(in our last home they covered several thousands in heating/air conditioning). you might want to check into it.

congrats on your new purchase-prepare to be among the "house poor :teeth: ". (you'll know you're there when they greet you by your first name at the local home improvement store :rotfl: ).

Thanks for all the tips! We do plan to tile ourselves to save $$ and I will be sure and check out sealant!

I'm 27 =) We've been renting since we were living someplace temporarily for my graduate school which is why it has taken so long to buy. We're finally putting down roots!

Congrats! We took the plunge earlier this year. It's so nice to come home to a place that is going to be all yours. Maggie

27 years old, hooray for you, another congrats is in order for you :cheer2:

Never feel bad that you waited until you were 27 to purchase a home, some people are in their 50's and they have yet to purchase. I'm sure it'll feel really nice to pay into something you own as opposed to renting.

Congrats, congrats, congrats :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

You must be so excited! It looks fabulous! I'm totally jealous of your closet :)

Congratulations! We just bought our first house this year, so I know the feeling!!!!!! I am really happy for you guys. Enjoy this time, although it might be crazy and busy, it is still wonderfully exhillarating! Enjoy that fresh paint/new house smell!

Wow, you are really close to me. I know exactly all the locations that Antares builds. Congratulations!!!!!!!!! I have seen that house finshed and the gameroom is to die for!

Congratulations! You will LOVE a new home. The only suggestion I would have for your floor plan is replacing the swinging door to your master closet with a pocket door, but I realize the house is already past that stage. DH and I have built 3 homes now and absolutely love the building process. Not one of our homes have been built to builder specs, we've always managed to tweak their plans to maximize floor space and traffic flow. The builder thinks we're crazy, but I just remind him it's our money that's paying the bill in the end.

Once again, Congratulations!
