We've been needing a new dishwasher for years, and finally took the plunge a few months ago. I read all the dishwasher threads on here, trying to hone my skills for when the time came. I finally settled on a Whirlpool Gold one:

It's the WDT920 model and it had to be ordered; it was not in stock at our Lowe's or anywhere close by. I am IN LOVE with this dishwasher! No regrets whatsoever. I love that the silverware basket hangs on the door and it has a wall of water thingy for focused cleaning. It is very quiet but not silent.
There was another model, and I can't even remember the brand, that had a sliding tray above the top rack for utensils and odd shaped items that makes me hyperventilate and tingle even now thinking about it. I really wanted that one, but we wanted to stay in the mid-range of price.
So after stalking all of your threads for years, I thought I would add my dishwasher purchase experience.
