This will be my first attempt to write a food report for our Disney Trip. Just some background. We're a family of 3 and this will be our 5th Disney trip. We were there 1/9 and then 1/14 - 1/17. We decided to try the Deluxe Dining plan since we're only at the World for 3 short nights this time as we were doing a Disney Cruise for four nights prior to that. Although I kept reminding myself to take pictures, We did forgot to at several places and so I'll try to review the food without the pictures so I apologize for not having pictures for everything ! Here are the places we went to :

I will be adding some review on our cruise food aboard The Wonder for our 4 night cruise this trip. We did do Palo but didn't take any pictures there because we felt that the dining experience was so elegant and it just felt really awkward to take any pictures of the food. However, Palo was definitely a very nice experience for us. The food, the service was top notch. We did the dinner and the brunch and truly enjoyed both.

I do have pictures for the other 3 rotating restaurants and so I will add them to this food report.

Hope you'll enjoy my food report !

Well, I'm still trying to figure out how to post pictures...Sorry to keep you guys waiting..I'll post my reports as soon as I figure out how :confused3

I'm not sure if there's a simpler way, but upload them to a photo sharing website like photobucket.com (you can sign up for a free account). Photobucket will give you a web address for the picture; use the Insert Image option here (the icon that looks like a mountain in a yellow box) and copy your image URL when it prompts you to. I'm not very good at explaining so I hope that makes a little sense!

Allright, I finally figure out how to post pictures :) Thanks Giselle22 for your help !

We arrived at MCO at 12:05 pm and we went straight to Budget counter to get our rental car for the night to drive to Port Caneveral the next morning. There were about 5 people in front of us and so it did took a while for us to get our car. It was already 1:00 by the time we drove our of the Budget parking lot. We drove straight to the Grand Floridian for our tea. DH was not too excited to be going to a girly place for tea but he went along anyway :) We arrived at the Grand Floridian at about 1:45 and there was no one at the check in counter of the tea room. DS3 wanted to ride monorail and so we decided to take him on a spin around the monorail since our appointment is at 2:10. We ended up 10 minutes late but the hostess very graciously checked us in and we were seated immediately. There was only a few tables at the time and it was very quiet. We looked at the menu for a few minutes and I decided to get the Buckingham Palace with Gardenview Blend tea. DH decided to get the Prince Edward's Tea since it sounded more like a guy's thing to get with a tea which he now don't remember what it was called (sorry!). DS being 3 years old we picked Mrs Potts Tea for him with magical dark tea (Chocolate Milk).

Here is what I got for my Gardenview Blend tea. It was served in a really cute pot with a matching teacup.

Bukingham Tea came with some tea sandwiches. I really like egg ,tuna and cucumber sandwiches (It tasted like cucumber but I can't remember if it really was or not) . They all tasted really good. I can't remember what was the other two sandwiches but they were not bad either.

Next came the jam tart and scones. Both were so delicious. Devonshire Cream was out of the world delicious. I was expecting it to be sweet but it's not sweet at all and was just a bit creamy and really really good. I think this is the highlight of the tea session for me :)

IMG_0775_Small.jpg

Finally I had a choice of pastries or strawberries with cream and I picked strawberries. The strawberries and cream was really good too but too bad I was already too full to finish them.

IMG_0779_Small.jpg

DH had some kind of black tea which he cannot remember what it's called now and nothing on the menu on allears sounds right to him :rolleyes1 Anyway, he forgot to take picture of his tea but it was served in some kind of tall transparent press pot (sorry I cannot remember the appropriate name for it lol). He enjoyed it. For his Prince Edward tea, this is what he get

IMG_0772_Small.jpg

Out of the whole plate, he only liked the crackers...He says the meat tasted strange and the cheese tasted weird..I tasted a bit of his meat and cheese and I have to say, they tasted a bit too strong for me too..He also got a glass of wine which he says is pretty good.

His final course

I wished I get 2 scones instead of one but I was too full to steal his ! He enjoyed the scones and the devonshire cream as well.

As for DS3's meal, we totally forgot to take a picture of his plate. He got some tuna sandwiches which he ended up eating only a few bites and fell asleep. We've been up since 6:30 am ! I picked the swan puff and chocholate puff to take back to our resort for snacks later and forgot to take pictures of them. They were really good too !

After Tea, we checked in to Animal Kingdom Villas for the night and watched some animals from the balcony of our room. It was really cold the day we got there. I think it was in the 40s and they were saying some parts of FL may even get snow. We had reservation at T-Rex restaurant that night. DS3 is a huge fan of dinasaurs and so we thought he would like it there. Our reservation was at 7 and so we took the AKV bus and arrived at about 7:10. We were given a pager and seated promptly. DS3 was really excited to see the T-Rex out in the entrance and he was in awe that they actually moves :) We took some pictures and then we were paged. We were seated in the inside room after going through the Ice section. As soon as we sat down though a storm started and with it being really loud and thundery, DS3 got scared :sad2: We reassured him that the storm will go away soon and we settled down. Me and DH was still full from our tea that afternoon and so we decided to share an entree and ordered a soup. We started with French Onion Soup which I thought was a bit bland. Not too much flavor in the soup.

IMG_0794_Small.jpg

We also shared the Mushroom Ravioli. Sorry for the picture, we didn't actually ate it yet but we had took out half of the ravioli into another small plate. The Ravioli was actually pretty good and filled with lobster cream and spinach. We really enjoyed it.

IMG_0792_Small.jpg

DS3 had a kids pizza which we forgot to take pictures again..We skipped desert. Overall, we would return to T-Rex again. The food was okay but I think just going there for the dinasaurs in action is worth the trip although DS was a bit scared of the storms. Next time I think I'll request for the ice room. It seems more interesting.

Getting late now so I will continue my food report later :) Good Night all !

Next morning we decided to make reservation at Ohana for breakfast before headed to the cruise. Ohana has always been my favourite restaurant for breakfast. The character interaction there has always been good and I love the pineapple bread ! We checked in and was called within 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. As soon as we sat down, our server came to introduce himself and brought us the pineapple bread I have been looking forward to since I made the ADR along with the cinnamon raisin bread. As always, pineapple bread is delicious ! He also poured us their juice which I think contains guava and orange juice. The juice is really really good ! Sorry we forgot to take picture of our drinks. Here is the bread

IMG_0796_Small.jpg

The he brought out the fruit plate. The watermelon was really fresh and sweet. DS ate a few of the grapes. I love pineapples and so I ate all of the pineapples and DH ate most of the cantaloupes.

IMG_0797_Small.jpg

Next came the scrambled eggs, fried potatoes which I love as well, sausages, biscuits and of course Mickey waffles !

IMG_0798_Small.jpg

We had seconds of the sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs. Ohana is my favourite restaurant for breakfast and I promised myself I will be back every time I vist Disneyworld !

wonderful photos and I am now ready to go to Disney.

thanks for taking the time to post these.

After Ohana breakfast, we drove to Port Caneveral and had a very enjoyable cruise. That would be another trip report so let's talk about Disneyworld food ! The day after we disembark, we decided to go to Holywood Studios. We got there at around 11 am and Toy Story Maniac fastpass was already distributed for 6 pm ! We did manage to grab one of the last few fast passes since the CM was telling people fast pass will ran out at anytime ! After getting fast pass, we started to get hungry. I had originally scheduled to go to Tokyo Dining for lunch but since we got there so late, we decided to try Sci-Fi and see if they will take walk in. We got lucky ! I have read so many good things about the onion rings at Sci-Fi and since we are now on deluxe dining plan, both of us decided to get Onion Rings as our appetizer.

IMG_1061_Small.jpg

Onion Rings are very crispy and as soon as I took a bite, I know I ordered the right thing ! I finished all of my onion rings as well as had some of DH's lol.

For main course, I went with the Angus Chuck Burger. It was huge ! I only manage to eat half of it.

IMG_1063_Small.jpg

DH got the Grilled Chickem Sandwich

IMG_1064_Small.jpg

He said it was pretty good and finished it all !

We forgot to take picture of DS's meal. I don't think we ever remember to take pictures of his food. He got a kids pizza with Chocholate milk.

For desert, I had the no sugar added brownie and DH had some fruits. I only took a few bites of my brownie since I was too full. It was good ! Again, we forgot to take pictures of our desert. I promise I will do better next time lol.

Oooooh, the tea looks lovely! I think DD and I have to do this - we are big tea drinkers and I miss having a proper tea! I just have to convince DH about it! :)

Yup lol. Took me a while to convience DH to do it with me..I loved the tea experience and I think I'm going to try to convince him to go again ! Next time though, I'm pretty sure he won't be getting the Prince Edward's tea :rotfl2:

What was the meat with his tea? Was it a pate? My DH wouldn't like it either, if it was!

Well, sorry we forgot to take pictures of our food in Chef Mickey's. For some reason, we forget at all the buffet places we went to. I guess we got too excited and started eating as soon as we sat down.

Chef Mickey has kind of become our tradition every time we go to Disney. Since DS is a huge fan of characters of all shapes and sizes, we try to hit as many character dining as we can possibly do to get pictures with them. For me, there is not a whole lot of selection of food at Chef Mickeys but I just love the environment. DS gets all excited every time they start to wave napkin with the Mickey Mouse song. Food wise, I think it's decent, better than the average buffet places you go to like Golden Correl, Ryan's and so I have not complaints there. I will have to say though character interaction has always seem kind of rush to me. However, as I mentioned, it has kind of become a tradition for us to go there and so I will go back again next time we go to Disney :)

I feel bad for forgetting to take pictures of LTT breakfast. I know a lot of people is curious since it's the first time they serve breakfast in LTT since Crystal Palace is going through refurbishment. I was quite dissapointed when I hear about not being able to book CP for breakfast but was thrilled we can try something else. I made our reservation at 8:10 am and so we were happy to be able to stroll down main street without the crowd. However, with the construction ongoing with MK, it kind of makes me sad that we couldn't take a picture without seeing the construction sight :(

We were seated as soon as we arrived and the server explained about the family style breakfast they are serving. He first poured us some orange juice and took our additional drink orders. I just went with the orange juice while DH got a cup of coffee and DS for a chocholate milk. On the starter plate, we were served some fruits, croissants, biscuits and orange butter. I have to say, the orange butter was absolutely delicious ! I had 2 croissants with it when I normally don't really like croissants. Next came the meat. There was bacon, sausages, ham, some breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs and Peach French Toast Casserole with Maple Butter. The Peach French Toast --- OMG soooo good ! I think all I ate was that. The rest of the platter seems so "normal" to me lol. DH had some as well and he even said he was good..He's normally not a big fan of french toast.

Overall, LTT breakfast is great ! I wish they have it permanently. If you're going soon, I highly recommend trying it just for the Orange butter and French Toast lol !

great updates...I wished you added food report from the cruise. How did your son like the cruise.

Sure, I'll add some cruise food pictures to the food report as well after I completed DW. We really enjoyed the cruise. We dropped DS off at the kids club a few times and I think he had fun at a few of their organized activities but there was a few times he said he didn't want to go. So not sure if he really likes it or not..Can't tell with a 3 year old lol

What was the meat with his tea? Was it a pate? My DH wouldn't like it either, if it was!

Yeah, I think it was..We've never had it so had no idea how it would taste like. For sure he won't get it next time lol. I think if he had gotten what I did, he would have definitely enjoyed it so much more.
