We are ruined for life!

My wife and I are so pathetic. We sent two weeks in London last summer, got back home and decided, "Yeah, that was nice, but I want to go to Disney World."

So your not alone in your sickness!

I'm so glad I'm not alone. Guess we shouldn't worry what others think and do what is right for us.

I forgot to mention we rode Soarin'. What an awesome ride. Wish we could do again while at the park, but it closed at 7:30. The best thing about loving WDW and DVC is we will be there again and ride Soarin' again :)

Thanks for all your responses,
Deb

i agree... my husband and i are addicts as well... as you can see by our listing in my signature. we live only a few hours away in miami, we have tons of family in orlando. we go there all the time. since we are florida passholders, we don't have to worry about getting in. we get our fl resident rate or a passholder rate on the resort. it is a great weekend getaway for us. sometimes it is a last minute trip, and we stay with family who live up there, and then all we are paying for is our food while we are there.

we use any excuse to go up there, supersoap weekend, starwars weekend, espn weekend, food and wine festival, flower and garden festival, mother's day special, xmas, halloween, opening of stitch ride, opening of soaring, a three day or holiday weekend, etc...

thank god we have our passes! we would be spending a fortune up there if we didn't. we really don't spend that much while we are there. we are usually there with family, in which we split the cost of our discounted room, or stay with family. it is great for us, and we get to go to our second home.

we can't wait to become dvc members!

Oh, I forgot to ask. We were in building 28 on the third floor. It was a wonderful 2 bedroom. My question is, does OKW not have elevators? It was no big deal, just checking to see if I missed it somewhere. Would have come in handy with all our heavy luggage!

LOL! We love watching the Travel Channel, and they have a show on at 11:30 am (central time) that we watch at lunch called "Vacation Challenge" where 3 travel agents come up with a trip for a family or group and then they pick which of the 3 to do. Each time we say, "I would rather go to Disney". They DID do Disney once on there (3 different Disney trips). So that was fun.

DJ...we have "Vacation Challenge" set on our Tivo settings. Its neat to see the different places the travel agents sent up. On the Disney program you mentioned, don't you think we could have done a better job than the travel agents ;)

That is what DH and I both said! We even thought that the TA's didn't seem to understand some of what they were talking about (like Fast Pass).

There have been a few trips on this show that I wouldn't mind doing, but most of the time, we usually say we would rather be at Disney!

I find it shocking how much people will spend for a 1 weekend trip! DH said that is the trend now, to take shorter vacations. But if I am going to pay all that money for airfare, I want to stay the week!

We're all probably spoiled by Disney and DVC. We DO go to other places. too. We usually stay in top-notch hotels. We usually spend a ton of money. We usually eat at great restaurants. We usually enjoy these trips a great deal (we've had a couple of clunkers over the years). We enjoy seeing new sights or revisiting places we've enjoyed in the past. But we almost ALWAYS end up, at some point, comparing the trip to a WDW vacation. And counting how many days left before we go. WDW+DVC is a uniquely satisfying vacation experience. It's hard to top that.

DJ..yes, can you believe how expensive their weekend trip is? 4000.00 to 5000.00 for 2 or 3 days! I could go to WDW twice for that price! My husband always shakes his head. It's hard not to compare to Disney. We always say..."rather go to Disney".

We are getting ready to book our cruise and initially we said we would only go on the cruise on come back home to California. Of course that has changed. We already added on 50 points...I think we need more! If we would stop going to WDW we probably could buy more ;)
