That reminds me of when Padalyn actually took a picture of me entering Disneyland for the first time.

You'll love WLV. WL is one of my home resorts. And one of my favorite resorts, period. Even if we aren't staying there, we pool hop there (Hey we're DVC we - might as well take advantage of the perks). Enjoy!

:cool1:

You'll LOVE it!! Can't wait to read the trip report!

Congratulations!!! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. And they're right - the first time you step into the lobby is incredible!!

Let the planning frenzy begin!!!

That is a GREAT idea...snapping a picture of her entering the kingdom for the first time!!! I've only seen the WL, we never took the boat over to tour it...so I'm literally BOUNCING I'm soooo excited!! Christy cries while watching the Disney planning DVD, good sign!! She's one of us!!;)

I wish I had been ready with the camera when I took my ex the first time. The expression on her face when we walked onto Main Street was one I really wish I had been able to keep.

If I were you, I would take the guided tour of the resort! :thumbsup2

Voted the best resort on Disney Property AND the best themed resort by our visitors, is Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This resort was inspired by Early American National Parks Service lodges. The lakeside lodge is an 8 story, log-structured building. The centerpiece of the Wilderness Lodge is the main lobby. A massive 82 foot tall, three-sided stone fireplace is surrounded by rustic-looking, wooden rocking chairs. Four large tepee chandeliers hang overhead and two 55 foot high totem poles stand guard at the entrance. The multi-colored flooring was inspired by Northwest Indian designs. A bubbling hot spring originates in the lobby and appears to continue on outside where it is transformed into a roaring waterfall that "pours" into the swimming area. Follow the path behind the pool area to a 120 foot geyser that erupts hourly from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Other perks of a visit to the Wilderness Lodge include: boat service to the Magic Kingdom, special guided tours of the resort, (one that concentrates on the architecture and landscaping, and the other is a "Tastes of the Lodge" tour that allows you to sample some of the culinary delights found in the lodge restaurants), the Discovery Island Animal show, the Ladybug Release, the opportunity to be the "Flag Family" (who participates in the 7 a.m. American flag raising ceremony, complete with photograph and certificate commemorating the event) and of course the front row seating on the boat dock for the "Electrical Water Pageant" that crosses Bay Lake nightly.

What a great idea...hadn't thought of that!! :thumbsup2

I was honored to be the flag family once. It by far, was one of the most magical moments you can imagine. These a few pictures I took from the roof after we raised the flag.

Enjoy!! I think VWL is the 'most romantic' DVC resort, a little more secluded and all the dark woodwork in the decor (IMHO). That's where we stayed when I took DP for the first time. If you can afford it, book Victoria and Albert's one night for a nice romantic dinner.

:woohoo: I hope you have a blast. :goodvibes

My favorite souvenier from WL is a figurine of that character totem pole. We have never stayed at WL, but one day, maybe. There are other places that I want to try first, like AKL and the Poly again.

WOW!
You're going to have an amazing time.
And a first timer too - that is going to be sooo cool! :thumbsup2

The WL is a show stopper.
Remember to try the boat service to the MK- we did it several times - but one time a night - Oooh my! The views are just great.

Make sure to check this out! :thumbsup2

Fun Facts
The Carolwood Pacific Railroad Room (formally known as the Iron Spike Room) is a perfect place for games or quiet time at The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. On display in this room are two cars from the famed Carolwood Pacific, Walt Disney's hobby railroad that he built in his backyard.

You guys are all so amazing!! Great tips, pictures and well wishes!! Now, if we can just be PATIENT for 5 1/2 months?!!!

Wow! Congrats on getting the WL....I got that on the "next to do list!" Can't wait to see pictures! Y'all have fun!!!! Yay!!!!
