We have returned from our road trip. We did Disneyland at the end of March but then took our time driving back.
I would like to thank everybody on this forum for giving me advice and help on making our experience at Disneyland a great time.
The sign for becoming a Jedi worked again. My oldest son tried three times when we were in WDW a couple of years ago and did not get picked once. This time he went with hubby while I took the girls to Pixie hollow and he got picked. I was so happy for him it really made his day!

Now to start thinking about our next Disney trip. Not sure if it will be DL, WDW or the cruise!

The construction did not really affect us. There were some paths that were blocked off but we just worked around it.
I am very excited to see the new rides when they are all open.

How was the Indy ride overall? Does it still look like it's in need of a MAJOR overhaul/refurb? (It certainly did when I was there in '08)

Wait a minute erikamj.....weren't you all the one day (or two day) commando family?? :)

We don't let one day visitors off so easy. :lmao: I want a quick bullet point recap. What rides you all did (in order). What advice worked & what advice didn't? (so we can help others). What were your favorites & what not so much? (Either a short recap here or a link to your trip report. ;))

Good to hear you had a good time & made it back safely. :)

I'm glad your little padewan got picked to fight those evil doers from dark side in Jedi Training. :thumbsup2

:)

Naw we werent that crazy. We did DL in three days. We spent two days at DL and one day at DC. We took in the Goofy's kitchen breakfast which was a blast. We enjoyed the food and everybody that came to visit.
We did the all-american WOC picnics and really enjoyed that food. The kids werent huge fans of the chicken skin but once I took that off they enjoyed the chicken.
My two year old was big enough to ride the Matterhorn and he absolutley loved it, he kept asking to go on it but we were only able to do it once.
My two year also wanted to do Tower of Terror and he was rather upset that he is not big enough for that yet.
We were there March 27-30 and we found the lines were not too bad. We took advantage of fastpasses and parent swap which was a huge bonus for my oldest since that meant he was able to ride Indy three times!
Honestly there really wasn't anything that we did not enjoy. I am a WDW vet but after spending the time reading the threads I went to DL with an open view and did not compare it to WDW but thought of it as a separate entity.
We stayed at the LaQuinta and were happy with it but I think next time I might look into some of the closer hotels and see if they can accomodate us.

Exactly the right way to think of it! Good for you!

Glad you had a good time. Here's to your next Disney trip, wherever it may be. :goodvibes

A few of my choir students just got back this weekend frm Disneyland, They said it was really crowded but the construction did't effect them much, They were there with a cheerleading group for competition but said there were a lot of choirs and students there. For the next three to four weekends there will be a lot of music students there as both Music in the Parks and Heritage Muic Festivals put on their competitions there during the weekends all the way through the second weekend in may.
