We've been mortgage free since 2000, and it's the BEST thing that we ever did!!

Now, for a word of unsolicited advice :rolleyes:

Celebrate a little bit (perhaps with a trip to WDW :teeth:

), but then go back on some sort of budget (even a loose budget). DH and I "celebrated" for a few years after we became mortgage-free :rolleyes:

It's taken us a while to get back to budgeting. For a while there, we wondered how we'd ever had the $$ to pay the mortgage, nevermind to pay it off :rotfl:

I wish we'd celebrated just a little and then gotten back to having some financial goals. We're back on track now, but we indulged waaaay too much after we became mortgage free.

I'm 29..and I have another 7 years on my mortgage... ds will be 12 yrs old by then... It is a duplex so w/rental income...it makes it much easier! Congrats!!! :banana:
