We will be hiring a town car to get us to WDW from MCO and using disney transport to get us around the parks. We will be leaving disney in the middle of our trip to go to Kennedy Space Centre and then on to Universal resort for 3 days. I was hoping to hire a car from Disneyworld for one day, drive to KSC and then drive to Universal where we have 4 nights accommodation. Is there a place to drop off our car near universal? After our universal stay we were just going to catch a cab back to WDW. We are a family of 6. If you have any better ideas I'd love to hear them. Thanks.
We weren't planning on hiring a car from MCO because we will be so tired it will be like being drunk and we don't want to spend that time stressing about driving on the opposite side of the roads etc.

You would have to check with your rental car company for drop off locations.

There are transportation services to Cape Canaveral from Orlando; it might be cheaper than renting a car.

You should be able to rent a minivan for a day for less that $100. A car will be cheaper.

We'd like the freedom to stop at a mall or choose a place to eat for dinner though so I think renting a car would give us more flexibility

There are a few places that are pretty close to those. Check out hotels as some have rental car locations. Also check what might be required ID wise since you are international. There was a big issue about needing some certificate but I am not sure if that ever passed.

Also remember if you are going to drink you need to have your passport not your driver's license or ID. It is now FL law that international guests must present their passport as proof of age.

Gosh, does that include inside disneyworld? what a pain having to carry around a passport all the time. I will have a bag but now I'll be worried about losing it. Thanks for the heads up

If you're an adult with children, it's extremely unlikely that you will be asked for ID if you order alcohol.

Yes that is inside Disney World and other theme parks as well since they are bound by state law. At Disney World alone you can carry a photo copy of your passport as well as your drivers license but to my knowledge Disney is the only place that does that in Orlando.

Also do not take chances. You should always be carded and it is better to be prepared then not. The can deny you service if you do not have a way to verify age and if you plan on drinking it is best to have whatever is legally required to prove such.
