I had knee surgery in October, then I had a total hip replacement in December, my dh is having back surgery in 2 weeks and I now need my other knee done. WHAT THE HECK? We suck.

I feel your pain. I am 39 and had gall bladder surgery 1/2 years ago and then broke my foot and had surgery on that last year. My foot still hurts everyday. I thought this was supposed to happen in your 60s.

OH yeah, here you go, me 46, hubby 45. Last may hubby had heart attack, was told to exercise, so he blew out his good knee while doing Tae Kwon Do. Now is bad knee is killing him because of overcompensating for the once good knee. He is looking a 2 total knee replacements this summer. I had a hysterectomy in Dec.

Maybe we can get a deal on early addmission in an old folks home, Sounds like we are going to need it.:goodvibes

Bieng 40'ish I know.My left knee is totaly gone, thanhks to football in highschool and bar room brawls.:rolleyes1

But I still go out there and outdo the youngsters-I do construction-and feel the pain for weeks.

There is know way I'm gonna lets say 25'ish man out beat me in the trade I showed them.I got too much Irish pride(or stupidity)to let that happen!!

:)DH is 45 and I am 41...we have dueling CPAPs to sleep at night. My back is terrible and DH is constantly complaining about his feet. If DH doesn't lose weight (I am pooh sized, too) then he might be looking at a portable ventilator to sleep at night:scared1:....what the *&**....I am a nurse and didn't even know they had such a thing. He HAS lost 15 pounds.

I want to be like Daddy, age 72, who looked at his cardiologist last year and said, "Doc I don't know why I am here...I just got back from a 10 day trip to Disney World and rode every rollercoaster there!"

DH just had surgery after tearing his quad tendon. He's still limping and in physical therapy. He's 43. :sad2:

Join the club! 43. Last year I had ulnar nerve surgery on both arms...at different times. Also had a shoulder manipulation. I'd never had surgery in my life before that...unless you count having children. DH is older than me but he's had multiple surgeries as well, including two last year himself! Needless to say, we met our out of pocket maximum!!! Good gosh, I thought it was just a bad year for us. Sounds like you caught the bug, too. Here's to a better rest of 2010!

Yeah, we are getting older - but it beats the heck out of the alternative... :thumbsup2

I am 41 and have had 3 emergency root canals in the last 5 weeks!!! I didn't get my first cavity until I was 30 so it wasn't like my teeth were bad to begin with.

Last May I started having thyroid problems. Never had any before that!!

So far the 40's aren't the best. Oh yea, last year at 40, DH had to have knee surgery....he never had anything like that before.

We're hoping everything gets better......and soon!!!

Good luck and prayers for other who are falling apart around us:goodvibes

DH and I are in our early fifties. We started falling apart in our late forties. We keep joking we have this many aches and pains now, how bad will it be in our seventies. :lmao:

I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread -- I just turned 40 yesterday!! I feel like I'm still 30 (at least that's what I'm telling myself).

Gosh, you guys are making me feel good. My knees are both bone on bone but I'm 56.
I was feeling pretty down about it until now.

I had two total knee replacements before I was 50 and am looking at a shoulder and hip replacement in the next few years. I have had 3 breast biopsies and a uterine biopsy in the past 3 years. I can't wait to see what my 50s bring.

My joints are crap- my rheumatologist told me if it was 50 years ago I would be screwed. Yes, he used those words.

OH, Lord, don't get me started. I had my last baby at 40 and by 43 I was falling apart. Thank goodness it's started to level off. Except for the diabetes and the fact that I need one foot totally reconstructed. But at least my weight is going in the right direction due to eating right and a new exercise program (see diabetes--nothing like a life-threatening illness to get your attention~) So far 47-lbs :thumbsup2 My goal is to get rid of the CPAP and maybe even drop some meds. 30-lbs to go~

I am 43 too !!
Had surgery on my right knee over Thanksgiving. After 5 years of cortisone shots and 2 MRI's showing nothing..when the Dr. went in my knee cap was broken in 4 pieces.
Having my left knee done over the summer..wondering what he will find this time.

I'm 33, not 43. I had two left shoulder surgeries in 2009, and am about to have the right done in a few months. After that I'll have the first left surgery done again if needed (which it's looking like I will), then finally fix my thumb that I tore a ligament on. Then I can move on to my hips :sad2:
Needless to say, we'll be hitting our deductible on our insurance for the next few years!
