We are here at the Portofino!

Hi everyone, we are finally here for our long weekend! The hotel looks great, I forgot how large it is. It has been four years since we stayed here. Our usual destination is HR and RP.

We have a deluxe room in the Villa section on the forth floor. It is really nice although not as large as I remember. We did get the coveted pull out mini sofa, though. Everyone has been so kind, from check in, bell services, concierge, etc. I tried to upgrade to club level but was told the hotel is 110% sold, whatever that means . We plan on enjoying the hotel this evening (swim dinner) and they even are offering a dive-in movie at the family pool at 8:30 (Night at the museum). They have games scheduled all day by the pool for the kids, too.

I just LOVE Universal. I love that my teen boys can get on the boat and go to the parks by themselves, I love the quality of the hotels, I love the selection of fine dining, I love the pools.

I will post some pics soon. I try and hop online while my youngest is resting...but she has not been resting too much.

One quick thing..we had dinner outside on the patio at Trattoria Del Porto. It was magical. At 8 pm every night they have Italian singers seranade the diners from the balconies above. It was very dramatic and well done. The food was very good (expensive of course) and the service excellent.
