Well I think we are really going to give it a shot at going to WDW at the end of this year rather than waiting until Jan/Feb 2005 which was our original plan. :)

We are thinking about going right after Thanksgiving. We will do Thanksgiving Day with my parents in Little Rock and then drive down to Orlando the next day. We will probably stay for 6 nights and then do the drive back to Missouri with a layover at my parents in LR. We have never driven before but because we will have to take lots of extras for DS we thought it would probably be easier.

This means that I have to start planning and entirely different kind of trip than I am used to. I never gave much thought to how to plan a trip with kids. I need to start researching which resort would be best, ticket options, etc. I am so excited!!!! :)

If anyone ever has any tips for me on planning a trip for an 18 month old I would love to hear them.

Good for you!! Just take it easy and make it a relaxing vacation with the baby.

Sounds great Becka!!!! Enjoy the planning and enjoy the trip :)

How Exciting! Nathans going to Disney World!!!! :)

We took our oldest when he was 15 months. I found that to be a great age. Nathan will be done with baby food, and bottles too. That makes a world of difference when traveling. Also, at that age they will sleep anywhere when they need to. DS would doze off in the stroller when he was tired enough. This worked well as it gave us a break to enjoy what we wanted to. Im a big fan of the "midday break" strategy. Somehow a dip in the pool then a bath rejuvinates my kids better than a nap. We brought our own stroller and found that to work well for us. When our second came along, the double carriage was a bit clunky on the buses, but now we are back to just a stroller for the youngest and it works fine.
If you have any specific questions be sure to ask.

Oh I'm so excited for you!!! That is wonderful!!! It will be a lot of work but a whole new kind of excitement bringing your little one for the first time!!! Enjoy the planning!!!

Stay at the Contemporary or on the monorail line. I loved it with the kids. So easy to run back to the room for a break during the day. Avoided the busses as much as possible.
