We got our tickets for Us and Ioa! We decided to break up our disney trip and go to universal for the first time. I think my boys are going to love it. I went years ago to universal and my dh and I went to IOA once but we have never been as a family. We will be there the first week of February. My boys will be 4 and 7, tell me the must do for them!

Welcome to the darkside! ;)

First I would recommend you read the FAQ at the top....it will answer most of your questions there.

Second, there really isn't much to miss at UO....it's all good

Third, if you are the "planner" I think you are....which, you ARE a DISser.... I highly recommend Kelly Monaghan's book Universal Orlando. IT is to Universal what the UOG is to WDW.... :thumbsup2

I recommend your boys do whatever they are tall enuf to do..... contrary to what most believe, UO is not just 'thrills'..... Cat in the Hat ride is NOT a 'thrill' ride :thumbsup2

Are your boys afraid of spinning? The dark? Scary stuff? What are they 'into' and likes/dislikes??? Like I said, most everything they are tall enough for will suit, but we will help you.... :goodvibes

Thank you, I might look into that book. I am a planner!;) My boys are not scared of to much, I guess they don't like to be in total darkness for a long period of time. They like to spin and they will do all the thrill rides they are tall enough for. My 7 yr old in 53 inches tall and my 4 yr old in 43 inches tall. I am glad the 4 yr old grew a little this year. Last year he was just at 40 inches and Disney would let him on some things and not on others and it was different every time we went to ride a ride. Thanks for any little tips you can give me.

I second getting the book. That will give you a good idea what your kids might like or might not be able to ride just yet.

Are you staying onsite?

We are staying at Disney and then offsite. Do you think it will be very crowded the first week of Feb.? We are going to go on Monday I think for one of the days.

There are no major holidays going on so I think you will be fine cause it should be slow.
Have a great time:thumbsup2

We are so excited about this trip. We added nights and now a lady at my dh work is going to give us seaworld tickets. Her husband gets tickets through his work and they are not using them this year so she is giving them to us!:cool1: We have never been to seaworld. And we thought we might just have a few days to rest!

Just try to get there early. Just about everybody starts arriving at 11pm, even during the slow times. Even in the busiest of times, getting there before the parks open will let you ride without lines. For instance, we got to Universal before opening on Thanksgiving day, usually a relatively busy time. It was so slow, we got our very own car the first three times we rode it.

Also, since you have younger children, get to PT Flyers in IOA relatively early in the morning. It is the only ride without Express Pass, so the lines get crazy long later in the day.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Make sure you go to www.universalorlando.com

There are lots of little video clips of the rides and good descriptions of mostly everything at the parks. Since your kids are little, make sure you allow for time to play at the many great play areas at the parks.
