... so you know what that means? We may be there the beginning of June :scared1:

The hubby is mentioning WDW more and more as he has come to realize we in fact are really not going this year --- no villas, no air booked... (I think he's going through the peak of withdrawal ;) ). I was planning a Vegas trip for his 40th but I think instead we'll go to WDW... I just need to determine my dates and book my villa and do some research on Universal as well so we can check out Harry Potter.

See you there! :thumbsup2

So far our villa is for June 3-15. I am still adding nights.

hahaha I am trying to decide where to stay if I want all the time at BLT, do a split or go somewhere that the points are cheaper. We are just staying in a studio for this trip as I want to save up points to hopefully bring my parents to Hawaii in a one bedroom later in the same year. I should probably book my room now at BLT and go from there....

Wonder if I should also inform my husband of this trip :rolleyes1:confused3

:littleangel:

I originally thought we'd do a week at Jambo and a week at Kidani. But the siren call of concierge has been too much to resist. Clean towels EVERY DAY and turn down service with the chocolates trumps having a seat on the bus. :rolleyes1 If the buses are too full I guess we'll just have to sit in the lounge and eat all day. :rolleyes1

At most we'll be adding 3 more nights. The problem is what to do if the last 2 nights aren't available. Do we waitlist for those nights, or cancel a few concierge nights and book maybe 5 nights at Kidani, or do we just end the trip when the concierge availability runs out since we already have 12 nights??? :confused3 Decisions, decisions...

what a painful predicament to be in! :lmao::lmao:

I've determined that we need more points but in reality it's a long trip for us to take from home to WDW so we won't go every year, so with that we have contemplated hawaii as we can get actual direct flights from home which is a bonus.

Would GD start on the 2nd or the 9th?

June 2. Gay Days is always the first weekend in June. :)

We have done 2 add ons already. :sad2: Obviously we should have put more points on our original buy in.

So I have devised a plan... a perfect plan that uses up every single banked 2010 point for one week at WDW (BLT/OKW) during this time

The chances I can get what I specifically need however may be fun to work out :lmao: I think we need to buy a small add on at AKV for those times that I want a value studio for extra cheap cheap ;) We are hardly in our room anyways so the smaller size won't bug us. One day I would love to try concierge but I won't hold my breath on getting one at 7 mos I hope you can get all the days that you want in concierge  but Kidani is nice too... we really loved our stay there last year.

I think my brother would have been happy hanging out at the resort all day. He's a teacher so he took a bunch of photos of him reading to make a wall at work showing the kids various spots of him and his book through his vacation. He finished that book while at AKV, same as his son... he had a book and was reading like crazy each chance he had, His sister on the other hand read the back cover ;) And to this day hasn't made it past the back cover :lmao::lmao: We were informed by her as we were walking through the different countries "I am here to vacay; not educate myself" :rotfl2:

Anyways I have mentioned to my hubby about a trip to celebrate his 40th and I got an "Uh huh..." so I shall work on him and continue planning as he didn't say "no, not a good time to get away" .... I informed him of Gay Days and said I don't think you own a red shirt to wear in support but you do have your "Mantastic" shirt :thumbsup2 which he said he'd wear if we went.

I am awesome at blowing through points. ;)

We're up to 13 nights on our 2011 ressie. I asked DH this morning what he wants to do. He doesn't care if we stay 14 or 15 nights, so he was no help at all. :headache: I am kind of leaning towards going home on Friday instead of Saturday, but we'll see.

This year it did get pretty crowded towards the end of that second week. And if we go home Friday we'll have enough points to do a little 4 nighter next December, which I said we were NEVER NEVER doing again, but just in case we DO...:rolleyes1

Hahaha we'd love to see WDW around Christmas time one day but don't want to contend with Christmas crowds!

Hahaha we'd love to see WDW around Christmas time one day but don't want to contend with Christmas crowds!

We've been 3 times in December - the first time was freezing, the second time was scorching, and the third time was freezing AND pouring rain. :headache: I looked at the December 2011 calendar and we won't go on a 4 nighter because of the way the days fall. So we are back to the original problem of 14 or 15 nights in June. :confused3

The flight schedules aren't even out, so I can't use those to help determine what I want to do. Not only that, but we can't book air until December when DH knows for sure that he can get those weeks off. Man, that would suck to have the villa booked and then DH not be able to get the time off! :headache:

I'd book the 15 nights because it's easier to cancel one later (when airfare comes out, or, when you decide to book the Dec. trip) than add one.

I'd love to try concierge sometime, but, I don't own at AKV so it'll likely never happen. So, I'll be looking forward to your TR.

I'll have to look at the use year. We are borrowing points to cover the ressie, so I don't want to borrow points, cancel a night, and end up losing the points since we can't bank them. If I book 15 then we will be locked in to staying 15. If DH can't get time off in June then we'll go in August, which would probably result in losing our concierge villa but then we'll book a one bedroom which is more points anyway.

If you do borrow the points and book a night then later cancel that night have them reorganize the points used so that all of the borrow points are used. Then, bank points.

TagsMissy -- sorry, I went off-track and responded to JSG without remembering to say, "yay! I'm excited that you're going to get to go in June." Someday maybe I'll take time off work and be able to go, but, it doesn't seem imminent (I have to take 5 months off to get time off in June).

TagsMissy, what all are you planning for your trip? Are you starting at BLT or OKW?

I added Night 14 this morning. And so far nobody besides Hematite153 and DS have any sort of preference for adding a 15th night. :rotfl2: DH and I are just stuck - we can't seem to commit to a plan. I guess we'll let Fate decide. IF I wake up early enough to call tomorrow and IF the studio is available then we'll book it for a 15th night. If not, we won't! :rotfl: With or without a 15th night we will need more points for an August trip, so if DH can't get time off in June that's not really an issue.

Yep, reading about your long trip has me dreaming of taking one myself. Airfare for us is even higher than for you...enough higher that we rent a car and drive for 24 hrs roughly every other trip. But, I don't like going to FL in the summer and the only time we could possibly get 2 weeks off together would be July or August.

We may do a split stay as I worked out a perfect plan doing a split between BLT/OKW that uses the exact number of banked points I have. I need to make certain I have enough points for September in case we go to Hawaii then. My thoughts are we can probably get a room at OKW if BLT isn't available... honestly I have not called to book BLT yet, I should do that today; I can always cancel my reservation if I need to....

eheheh try flights from BC... :scared1: but even the flight to Florida from BC isn't that bad when I think about either flying to Italy to visit my family or going to Hong Kong for the hubby... Hmm I wonder if it's worth it for us to go Hawaii for a week then go to HK from Hawaii then back home...

Ok I booked BLT LV from June 4-10th and am wait listed for a Standard for the week as a couple of the days were N/A. At 7 mos I am going to make the reservation a split stay and probably have us arrive on the 2nd. :thumbsup2
