Me (27) - planner of all things
DH (30) - along for the ride, but likes what I plan

My DH wanted to try more things during this trip. I tried to pick us a variety of restaurants and we tried several new venues.

I like it best when the thread continues instead of new threads for each day, so that is how I'm going to organize this.

Warning: I am long-winded!

Sunday, October 17
Breakfast in the airport - banana nut muffin and OJ for me; blueberry muffin and cappuccino for DH ($12)

Lunch - B&C - we each used a voucher:
2 double cheeseburgers – 18.78
grilled onions – 1.98
bacon – 2.00
onion rings instead of fries – 2.00
chocolate coke – 2.28
coke – 1.99
No Way Jose – 7.99 (shared)
piece of chocolate cake - 4.99 (took back to the room)
Our server was very good and was familiar with the vouchers and how to maximize them. Food was delicious!

Dinner - popcorn and soda before Fantasmic

Monday, October 18

Breakfast - Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary. It was very slow at 8:30. Our server was Diane and she was ok.
I had:
OJ – 2.29
Sticky Mickey – 2.99
Hashbrowns – 2.99

DH had:
Milk – no charge (must have been omitted, but I didn’t notice)
Steakhouse platter – 9.99
Total with tip: 23.00

The cheese potatoes (hashbrowns) were delicious and one of the
best things I ate on the trip. The Sticky Mickey was dry - I had heard the server cuts it open and pours cinnamon or something inside, but there was nothing like that for us. In exchange for some of the Sticky Mickey, my DH shared an egg and a bite of sausage and bacon. All very good. We both really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was good even though we could tell Chef Mickey's was rockin'!

Our server disappeared when it came time for our bill. We waited over 10 minutes after we had finished eating and stacked our plates and there was no sign of her. We went to the podium and told the attendant that we had lost our server and was ready to go. She was confused and told us to have a nice day and waved at us. Again, we explained that we had not been given a bill
and had not paid and that we needed her or someone to track down our server so we could pay. The attendant went to the back and came back with our bill. She said the machines were broken down and that is why our server had not been to our table. (???) I replied, "whatever" and handed her our room key. After writing in a small tip, we were on our way.

Lunch/Snack: The Lunching pad in Tomorrowland - Turkey leg, jalapeno pretzel and frozen coke – total: 11.54.

Dinner - O'hana at the Polynesian. We arrived early and had several drinks at the bar. Our server there was Karen and she was great. I started with a Lupa-Lupa and DH a Bud Light. I had some other drink after I finished that - it looked like a stoplight, so that is what we called it. I think it's official name was something like Macaw. It was good!

My DH had 3 more Bud Lights before dinner. I don't think she billed us at all for his beer. One of them was on the house because they had to change the connection, so she didn't think the coloring was right. He tried it and deemed it drinkable, so she told him it was free. Our bill was only $24 and I questioned her about it before we paid. She just smiled and told us the amount was right. We tipped her big time because she was entertaining and a great bartender!

Unfortunately, the drinks were the highlight of dinner. This place
just didn't do it for me. Our server was Danyele and she was ok at best.

We were given our appetizers and the salad, egg roll things and wings were very good. The rice was edible, but the rest was not. I'm a big fan of green beans (as sad as that sounds!) and they were gross. Not my thing. Of course, the meat is the star of the show. First up was shrimp and steak. My DH had some of both and I had the steak. It was ok and my DH thought the shrimp was really good. Next was the turkey and pork. We had both and they were ok, but dry. I liked the pork the best and
waited for our server to come back around to offer more. No sign of her.

The entertainment was good - hula hoop contests, pushing coconuts with brooms, songs from Hawaii. The server came back and began to clean our table. I requested another piece of pork and she looked annoyed because she had already picked up my plate and silverware. Snottily, she asked my DH if he wanted anything else before he picked up his plate. In my defense, I did not look like I was finished. My fork was the only thing on my plate and my napkin was still in my lap. He told her he was
ready for pineapple, so she cleared his plate. She returned with our pineapple and 2 pieces of pork in a bowl for me. No fork. Oh well! I picked it up with my fingers and took a bite. It was pink inside and I didn't want to end up sick, so I just left it in the bowl and ate some pineapple. Very good pineapple! We both agreed that we won't be back to this restaurant as it wasn't our cup of tea. Total with tax and tip: 65.00

Tuesday, October 19

Breakfast - Kona Café at the Polynesian. Our server was Beverly and she was adequate.

I had the Tonga Toast (8.99) that everyone raves about and it was good. I had sausage with it and pineapple juice (2.29) to drink. DH had the Big Kahuna platter (9.99) which was very good and OJ (2.29).

He agreed that the Tonga Toast was good and I sampled everything from his plate and it was good. Our server took our order, brought our drinks, brought our food and brought our check. No refills on drinks, no checking to make sure everything was good. As a side note, we did not have good servers at most of the restaurants we dined at. Maybe we just expect too much from our servers. We tipped well - probably more than we should have. Total with tax and tip: 27.00

Lunch - Le Cellier - we shared a VKL and this was the best lunch of the trip. My DH thinks it was probably the best meal of the trip. Our server was Dwayne and he was probably our best server of the trip. He was not outstanding, but good and entertaining. We shared the Cheddar Cheese Soup for the appetizer and it was fabulous. I was still pretty full from breakfast, but I had decided if my entree did
not fill me up I would order more! I was great and we had samples from outside the restaurant at the F&W several times during our stay.

There was no pretzel bread - I don't know if it was a lunch thing, if they were out or what. The other breads (sourdough and multigrain) were very good. DH had the chili rubbed shrimp pasta meal (Dwayne recommended it) and I had a steak burger with cheese. My burger was very good. It had a lot of flavor and
was fabulous. My DH loved his shrimp pasta. I'm not a fan of seafood, but I had some of the pasta part and it was good. I had to stop him from licking the bowl! He raved about it the entire trip.

For dessert, we shared the apple-cranberry cobbler that was also recommended by our server. It was divine!! I have never tasted anything so good! We were both fighting over who was going to lick to bowl!! VERY GOOD!

Voucher Total:
Soup – 4.99
Shrimp Pasta – 18.99
Coke – 2.19
Apple Cobbler – 6.99
Total with tax and tip: 40.29
Savings of 9.29

My meal:
Coke – 2.19
Burger – 9.99
Total with tax and tip: $19 (we tipped beyond the 15% included in the voucher)

Dinner - was snacks in our room

Wednesday, October 20

We ate breakfast in the room. Nothing fancy.

Lunch - Pizzafari for DH. He said he was starving, so I was going to order a child's pizza meal deal for myself and a pepperoni pizza for him. There is no more cheese pizza child meal only PBJ and chicken fingers. I decided to get a cheese pizza and a pepperoni pizza for us. I ate 2 slices of the cheese and DH ate the rest. He said it was ok - but he had no problem devouring it!!

Lunch take 2 - I decided I was hungry for Flame Tree later on so I
order the pork sandwich meal deal. It came with beans and corn and was very good. DH helped me eat it and we decided it was delicious! Later we had a Mickey bar and a bottle of water.

Dinner - RFC at Animal Kingdom - based on our big lunches we decided to share a voucher at RFC. I had 2 drinks (paradise punch, I think - our server recommended it and it was very good). DH had a coke in a souvenir cup with a plastic monkey in the bottom. The monkey was very cool.

We shared the quesadilla appetizer and it was delicious. I don't think we got the right steak. We could not do any add-ons, but if the stuffed lobster was listed as something you could add to the steak in the menu part, you could add that (That is pretty confusing, but it has to list it in the menu part, not as a separate add-on). I thought we picked the prime rib, but it was some sort of filet with a huge mushroom thing. We didn't know what
the mushroom thing was at first, so DH tried it and decided it tasted like fat. Later he asked the server and she told us it was a mushroom. Neither one of us likes mushrooms and I know that I saw that as part of an entree and we specifically didn't order it because we don't like it. Regardless, it was ok. Nothing to write home about and the steak was not cooked enough to my liking. The potatoes that came with it were very good! For dessert,
we had the banana cheesecake and it was good. We didn’t get a receipt for our meal, but we did better than even which was my goal when buying the vouchers!

Thursday, October 21
Breakfast - in the room

Lunch - Nascar Café - we eat here every time we go to US/IOA. Our meal is usually very good. This time we had a coupon for a free appetizer with the purchase of 2 entrees. We were allowed to order the appetizer sampler, which had onion rings (very good), chicken fingers (very good), vegetable wontons (good - DH liked them), southwest egg roll thing (ok) and wings (very good).
I had the chicken fried chicken and was expecting the chicken fingers served over mashed potatoes with some gravy.
These chicken fingers were gross. The potatoes were instant
(nasty!!!!) and the gravy was barely edible. I picked at my meal at best.

DH had the fish and chips. He gave a piece of the fish to me and took some of my chicken fingers. He thought the chicken fingers were gross as well. Neither of us really liked the fish either, but the fries were ok. Sadly, the meal was probably one of the worst of the trip. We will stick to their burgers next time since they are always very good!

Appetizer sampler – 11.99 (FREE)
Chicken with gravy – 9.99
Fish and Chips – 10.29
2 cokes – 4.98
total with tax and tip: $35.00

We had a few drinks during the HHN. I don't remember grabbing anything in particular for dinner, so we must've eaten in our room.

Friday, October 22
Breakfast - sleep in

Lunch - Whispering Canyon Café - Our server was Tumbleweed Diane and she was good. There were not a lot of people there at noon, so it was pretty dead. We both had the all-you-can drink shakes in chocolate (later I had a strawberry and it was good). I had the skillet and DH had the fried chicken. If you are the only one ordering the skillet, I thought the serving was skimpy. I know I can order more, but I really wanted to have some food to gnaw into. The sausage was very good and I ordered more of it. The ribs had some sort of clear crunchy stuff in them
(cartilage??), so I had to keep picking that out of my mouth. The oven chicken was ok. The potatoes were good and I ordered more of them as well. The corn was ok. The beans were pretty good. My DH ate the coleslaw and said it was pretty good. I was really looking forward to it and it was just alright at best. My DH liked his fried chicken. I ordered the triple mouse cake to go and my DH joked about our milkshakes being "to go" as well. Tumbleweed brought out 2 chocolate and 1 strawberry shake for us to take with us. We left them in our fridge and drank on them for a while. The stawberry was my breakfast one morning (very healthy, I know!) Very thoughtful of her.

2 shakes – 8.78
Chocolate cake – 4.99
Skillet – 13.99
Fried chicken – 12.59
Total with tax and tip: $54.00

Dinner – snacked in the room

Saturday, October 23
breakfast - in room

Lunch - 50's PTC in MGM. We were really looking forward to this meal and it was pretty bad. We won't be back to the restaurant. Brother Bob was our waiter and I think brother Bob needed to be less concerned that it was Saturday - bath day - and more concerned about doing his job.

We waited at our table nearly 10 minutes before he finally took our drink order. He blamed the birthday girl at the table next to us for keeping him occupied and not getting to us in time. We had a VKL and we were going to share the appetizer and dessert and each order an entree. We ordered cokes, fried boursin, fried chicken (me), and pot pie (DH).

After another long delay, the table on the other side of us was seated and he took their drink order and then proceeded to try to keep all of us on the same schedule. That doesn't work for us - a party of 2 adults - to eat at the same pace as a party of 7 with 2 kids. Our appetizer was brought out with our entrees and there is not a lot of room at a table for 2 to begin with. Brother Bob said he forgot to key it as an appetizer so it was cooked at the same time. Oddly enough, the table next to us did not order an appetizer and their entrees were brought out right behind ours. Our cokes were empty and we waited for refills. My
DH also requested 2 waters and we waited for them.

The appetizer was not what I was expecting. It was incredibly small for the price. We cut it into 3 bit-sized pieces. My fried chicken was ok and the mashed potatoes and gravy was good. DH said his pot pie was ok. There were large chunks of veggies in it that he did not like. The crust was also weird - hard to cut and very tough. Not what he was anticipating. Only when the table next to us was finished was all the dishes removed from both tables. I told Brother Bob that I wanted the Smore's for dessert and the check. We had already been there for over
an hour. The other table did not order dessert. We were seated 15 or 20 minutes before them and they left at least 10 minutes before us.

Again, the Smore's was not what I was expecting. I thought the chocolate would be melted, but it wasn't. It was ok, but not the best. DH tried to give Brother Bob a hard time in a joking way and it didn't go over well. He told Brother Bob that I did not want my picture taken with him for the family album. He just rolled his eyes at me. I told him that I saw him give bunny ears to people and I didn't want our family album to have pictures of bunny ears - what would mom think?! It was again met with an
eye roll in which I promptly told him that I was telling mom! He looked at me and said do you want a picture or not (not in his "character" voice but in an "I'm annoyed, why don't you people go away" voice). My DH pulled out the camera and snapped a quick pic. You can tell I'm aggravated with the whole
situation.

I did not like this restaurant. The food was not good and the service was even worse. Our new table mates ordered onion rings as we were gathering our things and they looked very good. We might stop at the bar area and order, but I am not interested in eating in the dining room. Too many other choices to not have a good experience.

Voucher Meal:
Fried cheese – 5.99
Chicken Pot Pie – 13.49
Smores – 4.99
Coke – 2.19
Total with tax and tip: $33 (better than even!)

Other meal:
Fried Chicken – 12.99
Coke – 2.19

Dinner - I had a dole whip in MK

Warning - long and not pretty!
Sunday, October 24
Breakfast - Cape May at Beach Club - If you thought our other dining experiences were bad, you have not seen anything yet. I'm sure you might have wondered why I didn't declare them our worst experience. Well, that is because the worst dining experience we had was a Cape May. The only word to describe it was TERRIBLE. We had a 10:30 PS and walked downstairs to get in line at 10:25. The 3 people in front of us were given pagers, so I was surprised when we were not. We were told 15 minutes
and to have a seat in the lobby area. I assumed the pagers were for walk-ups and that since we had a PS we didn't need one.

There was a lady by herself sitting in the chair across from us who had a 10:00 PS for 1 and was still waiting. There was a family of 4 talking to the manager about there long wait that was referred to the Yacht Club Galley and was told it was the same food without characters. DH and I looked at each other a little perplexed, but I assumed they tried to walk-up and was unhappy with their wait. I didn't know what was up with the single woman. Well, 15 minutes came and went. Then 20. Then 25.
A party of 15 was seated after the one woman had complained numerous times and begged that they at least be seated in parts so some of them could eat.

The single lady went up to the podium and complained and was seated. My DH walked up to the podium and asked what number we were to be seated. He was told there were no tables for 2 and that it would be 5 more minutes. Another angry gentleman walked around the eating area and counted 18 open, clean tables.
At 11:10, 40 minutes after our PS time, we were seated. The table has butcher paper for tablecloths, so we wrote our drink order in crayon hoping if the server came by he would order
them for us. We both headed up to the buffet - starving! The scrambled eggs were good and hot, the bacon was cold and fatty, the sausages were good, but cold, the biscuits had probably been out for quite a while as they were ice cold and I could barely break it apart to put gravy on it (gravy was decent). DH also had some french toast sticks and said they were good (I had some later and by that time they were cold but good),
he had waffles and pancakes and said they were good and the pancakes were hot, he also had some potato wedges and they were good (I got some later and they were good).

We had cleaned our first plates before our server, Gavin, appeared. In the meantime, I had to vent some of my frustration. I wrote in crayon that our PS was 10:30 and we were told 15 minutes and were seated at 11:10 and that it had been the longest 15 minutes of my life.

You have to understand one thing - the women at the podium were running around like chickens with their heads cut off. The lady would stack, restack, and stack again all of the sheets with people's waits on them. She would then gather up 3 or 4 of them and head into the restaurant only to stop, turn around, head back to the podium and reorganize them. I have
no idea what she was doing!

Our server brought our drinks. We told him that we picked our PS time so that we would have plenty of time to eat before the Nextel Cup race and now we were going to be rushed. He blamed Disney's PS system saying it was "archaic" as the reason that we had to wait. I was in no mood and gave him the "crazy women" look and said "WHAT????!". He mumbled something about them just doing their jobs and walked off. Up to this
point, we had a PS for every sit down restaurant we had dined at and had no issues.

We saw Goofy walk by and he didn't stop. Minnie came by and quickly posed for a picture with both of us and then waved and left. That was the extent of our character "interaction".

As our drinks sat empty and our 5 empty plates sat there, we decided to just sign our breakfast vouchers and leave. It was a terrible experience, but there was nothing you could do about it. Just as we were getting up, the manager appeared and bussed our table and asked us to wait so she could talk to us. She was a whole other piece of work. She said that our server mentioned that we had a wait, but the restaurant would not "turn over" like they like. She explained that you cannot kick people out, but simply have to work around those who like to linger. I told her that I understood, but that if my wait time was going to be 40 minutes, then tell me it would be 40 minutes and not 15. I also told her that for our money we would've been better served at another restaurant like the Yacht Galley because we had very
little interaction with characters.

I asked her about the number of walk-ups suggesting that maybe they tried to accommodate too many that morning and she informs me that they accepted no walk-ups all morning. I then asked if they were completely booked with PS and she said they had opening for every PS time that morning. I pointed out that if there were more PS to be had and no walkups accommodated it would make sense that turning people over would not be necessary because they would have open tables at every time slot to fill with the new people arriving. She had no response and muttered that they could not kick people out.

I also pointed out that there had been several 4 person tables that were clean and available while we waited and that we could've sat at those tables - especially if our server
was not going to remove our dirty dishes - and been able to been accommodated sooner.
She had no response. She asked us if we had tried Cape May for dinner and I explained that seafood was not our thing. She explained all the non-seafood items on their buffet and I just kind of shrugged my shoulders. I though maybe she was going to accommodate us by inviting us to have the dinner one night, but the offer never came. Just more hype about how good it is.

I told her that I didn't really think we would enjoy it,
especially after the pitiful breakfast we experienced. She said "you enjoyed the food, right?" I said that most of it was cold and that I didn't really enjoy the food. She told me that most of the people come for the characters. I told her Minnie Mouse was at our table for about 15 seconds and that was it. No one else had stopped by. I also told her that our drinks had not been refilled and our plates not bussed. She made some comment about them being busy. They were far from busy, but I had had enough. I told her that I appreciated her stopping by and listening to my complaints, but that I had no desire to eat there again - breakfast or otherwise. I explained were in the villas and that it was a convenient location, but for the kind of money it costs to eat there, there were many more places in WDW I would
rather dine.

She told us to have a magical stay. I was more irritated than before she came over. By this time, we had to get back to the room to watch the race and I had to leave before I smacked her.

Dinner - Carry out at Beaches and Cream - 2 cheeseburgers and an order of onion rings ($20). Very good!

Monday, October 25
Breakfast - Boma at AKL - Our dreadful service continues this morning. However, the food here was outstanding! We both really enjoyed this buffet. The made-to-order omelets were out-of-this world. My DH and I shared 2 of them - ham, cheddar cheese, peppers and onions. They were great. DH liked the waffles and pancakes. The sliced meats were very good as was some type of gravy/biscuit dish. It had biscuits on top and it was fabulous. I had 2 helpings of it.

I ordered Frunch and DH had OJ. DH filled his plate while I waited for our omelet and by the time I got to the table he had finished his juice and most of his first plate. We shared the omelet and I shared some of my juice with him (he didn't like the Frunch). He went back to the buffet and I kept an eye out for our server, Edna, to get him a refill. She had disappeared! We were right outside of the server station area and other servers were coming in and out. I tried to flag down one of them, but
couldn't get their attention.

When DH returned to the table, I got up to get us another omelet and refill my plate. When I returned, the server had still not came by. I suggested that DH go into the server area and either look for her or find someone to refill his drink. When he went back there, she was just standing there. He told her want he needed and she snapped at him to sit down and she would bring it in a minute. She brought out a pitcher of Frunch and refilled all the glasses around us leaving less than half a glass for me. She sat DH OJ on the table and spilled part of it as she sat it down. No apologies and no return to clean it. She also did not pick up our dirty plates.

She brought out our check and I had breakfast vouchers. I went to the front area and found a crayon to sign the vouchers with since there was no pen in the holder. I signed the vouchers and put them in the holder. She came over and wanted to double check that the vouchers were signed. She had only been gone a minute or 2 from when she had dropped off the bill, but quickly reappeared to make sure we had signed our vouchers. We don't see you for over 35 minutes, but you reappear in 2 minutes to make sure we can read. Needless to day, we did not tip any extra over the voucher. If I had paid for the meal out of my pocket, she wouldn't have gotten 15% so she should consider herself lucky.

Snack – ice cream at MGM before Beauty and the Beast
Chocolate cone – 2.89
Cookies and Cream cone – 2.89
Total: 5.52

Tuesday, October 26
Breakfast - bacon, eggs and biscuits in room (it was nice to have some "real" cooked food)

Lunch - a few snacks around the WS - cheddar cheese soup and beef stroganoff were the highlights. We also share fish and chips in UK (a must do every trip!)

Dinner - LTT - Luckily, our service was much better at this restaurant.

This was probably my favorite restaurant of the trip, but I love
Thanksgiving food. The salad was very good and I liked the fact that it came in a bowl in the center and we could fill our plates. The rolls were absolutely delicious and I ate 3 of them during the meal. All of the food that was served was good. The potatoes tasted homemade, so that was a big plus for me. My DH (aka macaroni and cheese freak) really liked the mac and cheese. The turkey was moist and flavorful. The flank steak was good as was the ham (requested 2nds of it and the mac and cheese). I thought the stuffing was tasty and we both ate the carrots even
though who wants carrots when there are mashed potatoes and gravy!! The apple cobbler dessert was good, but no where near as good as the one in Canada. It was still very good and a good ending to the meal.

Wednesday, October 27
Beaches and Cream again today! We shared on voucher and had a double cheeseburger with grilled onions and bacon with onion rings instead of fries. I had a vanilla coke and DH had a coke. I also had a cup of chicken noodle soup and we shared the No Way Jose. We were only charged for my soup (not the extra drink) which came to $9.00 with extra tip.

At Cirque, we shared popcorn and a coke - $6.25

Thursday, October 28
Breakfast in room

Dinner (4:30) – San Angel Inn (DH request). Our server was Alvardo and he was much better than the server we had the last time we dined here. Our favorite thing (and the only thing DH was really interested in) is the Queso Fundido (9.99). The server brought out a dish of the cheese, sausage, onion mixture and served it into 3 warmed tortillas. I had requested sour cream to be brought out with the chips, but we never got it (and weren’t charged for it either). The appetizer was very good and did not disappoint. We shared the Plato Mexicano (19.99). I don’t remember exactly what was on, but it was a 3 dish sampler. It was very good. We cleaned the plate. We also had 2 cokes and our total with tax and tip was $44.00

Drinks:
12oz Lowenbrau – 4.25
Fiesta Margarita – 7.73

Late Dinner: Spoodles pizza carry out – pepperoni with roasted peppers – 14.88
A word of warning: Watch out for drunk “old” people if you are on the elevator with your piping hot pizza. They even wanted to look at it and I thought the men were going to take our box from us. Luckily, my big, strong DH was carrying the box and saved the day. We made it back to the room with only one slice missing – the slice my DH had to have as we walked from Boardwalk to BCV!

Friday, October 29
breakfast - in room

Lunch - Cinderella's Royal Table - This one was for me. I love the
castle and thought it would be fabulous to eat there. It did not
disappoint. We had the first lunch seating and were seated in the 2nd group of people. We had a beautiful table overlooking fantasyland. My DH thought that was great since I did not mention what the tables overlooked. We had a good view of the carousel which was very cool.

We each used a
VKL and the server was well aware of what we could order. We each had a coke and I had the Caesar Salad appetizer and my DH had the seafood spring roll. My salad was divine even though I'm not a fan of Caesar salads and my DH raved about his! I ordered the prime rib cooked well (yes, well. I don't like it not done!) and my DH had the filet (also well!). They were fabulous. Both were full of flavor and very good. We were very impressed with our meals.

For dessert, I had the apple bread pudding which was divine and my DH had the chocolate cake with ice cream which was heavenly and rich! They were both very good desserts. We had a really great meal and tipped our server extra for his prompt attention. I also liked the fact that he did not bat an eye to the vouchers or treat us poorly for using them. This was a top-notch meal which we will be repeating next vacation! I don’t have the receipt, but we more than broke even with the 2 vouchers.

Dinner - We were very full after CRT, but I knew we would need to have a late dinner. We were at MGM and I went to Guest Relations to find out the latest PS for Mama Melrose (I was craving Italian). The latest was 5:45 and I knew that would not be late enough. She then checked Epcot's Alfredo's which had an 8:00 which we took. We were seated with 10 minutes of arriving. We were not starving, but were hungry. We
decided to both order entrees and skip the appetizer. I had the lasagna (18.00) and DH had the sampler (lasagna, alfredo and potato dumpling something-another – 22.95). They were all very good. DH ended up liking the alfredo the best. My lasagna hit the Italian spot!

Our server was good, but kind of hard to understand. It always feels weird to be sitting RIGHT next to someone else's table. The couple next to us was celebrating her birthday. From what I could gather, they were dating and probably have not been together that long. He kept bragging about all the places that he had been and on and on . I even caught DH rolling his eyes and he is not that type of person. The woman kept wanting to know where that was located (she didn't know where Italy was
for crying out loud!). Then she was telling him that she was sure
"these people" (meaning us) did not want to hear about all of this. We were chatting to ourselves, but did not find the need to speak so loudly that everyone around could hear us!! We would, however, break into laughter every now and then just to see the look on their faces as they would try to figure out what was so funny. We really need to get a life!!

Other than that, the meal itself was very good. We have eaten here before, so we knew the seating arrangement before we arrived. You just never know who your neighbors will be!! Total with tax and tip: $58.00

Breakfast - finished most of the snack cakes and snack items from the room

We always eat lunch after we land and then go grocery shopping. I let my DH pick where to go. We consider us still "on vacation", so anywhere is an option. After dining so well for the last 2 weeks, where do you think he picked? McDonalds!!

At least he didn't request it while we were in WDW, even though anytime he saw people eating McDonalds he would wonder to me why they would travel all that way and be surrounded by some of the best food in the world and pick something they could have everyday at home. At least I have him trained on vacation!!:teeth:

I hope you enjoyed the food reports. Feel free to ask any questions!!

thanks for sharing!!!!!!!! i am SO sorry you had such disappointing experiences at so many places, though! You have a great attitude about it - and at least you spoke up for yourself when it was cruddy service!!! =)

Wonderful reviews! It is very timely information because I am trying to decide what restaurants to go to when we go in March. From your reviews, I will definitely pick Whispering Canyon, Kona Cafe, Le Cellier AND Beaches n Cream. For the kids, I have to also pick Chef Mickey's.

Which one would you also highly recommend?

Thanks so much for the very entertaining reviews and information!!!

Thanks for the reviews, it's nice to have an idea of what to expect and you tried out quite a few!

It really is helpful to hear how everything was. I am sorry the service was such a problem!!!!! Glad you did not let it ruin a great trip.:sunny:

Thanks for the great reviews. I am sorry to hear that you didn't like O'hana's, that is one of our FAVS!

I can't recall the last time anyone posted with such a total "bad service" report--sounds like a complete breakdown park and hotel wide.

I read every word--thanks for taking the time to provide such great details.

We would, however, break into laughter every now and then just to see the look on their faces as they would try to figure out what was so funny. We really need to get a life!!

LOL this is something that DH and I would do....for some reason I can really tune in on someone that is going to annoy me for the entire meal...like someone who is loud and is a know it all....it can really irritate me...im always thinking to myself, they can't hear me talk...if I don't have to yell, why do they?

Thanks for your reviews!!

I am really shocked about the bad service, especially at Cape May, the manager should of definately done something...it appeared like she was going to give you a dinner--as well she should have. Did you write a letter??? Also, the waitress at Boma--to spill something and then not clean it up--inexcusable!!! and the attitude...not Disney like at all. It is disturbing to read all the posts about bad service and bad hotel experiences....

WOW! Thanks for such detailed reports. Thanks so much! I am sorry you had such a bad time with servers. I went to Cape May for dinner on my last trip and was not impressed. Supposed to go for breakfast this coming trip! Hope it won't be as bad as yours!

I had debated on posting any of the details behind the restaurants besides what we ate and whether the food was good or not. In the end, I wanted to post the details more as an FYI. I like to read about everyone's experiences, so it was only fair that I shared my own.

We had a WONDERFUL vacation. There were only a few locations, like O'hana, that we did not really care for the food. Nothing against the restaurant, it was just not what we like. :D

It takes a lot for us to frustrated with service (ok - it takes a lot for DH to be frustrated!). Besides Cape May, I didn't bring up the service issues with management. Even then, our server sent the manager over even though we never asked to speak to her. The service issues were minor in relation to the entire experience. Who wants to remember always speaking to a manager when they think back on their vacation! We just let it go. By the time we had left the restaurant, all was forgotten!

To those that asked, I have composed a letter about the Cape May experience. I didn't really expect them to compensate us with dinner (it would've been nice), but really feel that a heartfelt apology was in order. I don't want to hear excuses, and that is what I got.

c&m - I would highly recommend Cinderella's Royal Table for lunch. We loved the food and the atmosphere. We also really enjoyed Liberty Tree Tavern. Excellent food! The best breakfast food-wise in my opinion was Boma's.

All in all, we had a great time trying new restaurants and enjoying new foods!

You can be sure we won't be giving Cape May our business. If they want to flourish, they need to evaluate management approaches as well as food quality.

THanks for your honesty.
