I am so excited!!! We took our Federal Income Tax Return and paid off all our credit cards!!!!! We now have our mortgage, our truck payment, and a rather large personal loan to get rid of. We will be working on our truck payment next as it is the next lowest balance we owe!!! Im just sooo excited.... we are on our way to being debt free!!!!!

congrats!!! I like seeing posts like this. Everyone is so inspiring...I'm working on paying off my debt, too.

Way to go!:goodvibes I love the enouragement and inspiration of hearing each other's stories on moving toward debt free! Keep the (snow)ball rolling!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I can't wait till I can say the same!! :) We trying to pay them off too... slowly but surely the balances are coming down.

:banana::banana::banana::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:.... Great job I went from $24,375 down to 4375 before being let go 9 months ago. I am still looking for employment but I couldn't imagine dealing with my original CC debt at 30% .

WTG!!!!! :cool1: That's awesome! Keep plugging away and keep up the good work!

that is just fabulous. I am continually amazed at how simple it is once you figure it out. But they really don't teach you this stuff in school. Plus we live in a society that has accepted debt as being normal. So many people never realize that it's even possible to live debt free.

Great job. :banana::banana:

That is so great. We have one credit card left and we are done. After that is paid we are going to work on my small loan. Than are HOLC. It really is such a great feeling. I'm not debt free yet but almost there. We did pay off both car loans last year. We had so much debt it wasn't funny. I didn't really even care we had it. But with job security these days I figure it was time to start caring.

Congratulations! :thumbsup2

I hope to be posting this very thing by the end of the year. It motivates me to keep trudging along when I see people actually getting it done!

Congratulations!!!!!! :banana:Thanks for sharing your accomplishment- you are keeping myself and others motivated to do the same!!:cheer2:

Congrats. Its an awesome feeling, isn't it? I so remember the day we did the same. The mortgage went next. Vowed never to go back to owing anyone. And so far, we've kept our word.

Congrats!! Posts like these are real motivators for me! I have paid off 7 cards this year so far with my refunds. I closed them also so I'm not tempted to charge (and I always fall in the zero finance charge trap and never pay off...and yes I know the ramifications of closing accts). I just paid off another one tonight. Slowly working to become debt free!

That's great!

I don't keep a balance on my cc's but I use them for things like hotels, airlines etc. when I travel and then pay them right off. I used to have balances on them and just aggressively paid them all off. It's a great feeling isn't it?

Like you, my only debt now is a personal loan (though mine is not that large) and a small car payment. I will be renting until my FI sells his house (which is too far away from my employment for me to live with him in, so I'll just rent a place for us while he deals with that) so I don't have to worry about a mortgage for a while. Maybe not ever if I can find a nice "luxury" apartment complex after FI's house is gone. :rolleyes1
