We are being noticed

That is a pretty interesting article. I have been starting to see it advertised a lot more in a variety of places.

An interesting story with regards to one of the points made in the article; that Disney has made trips to theme parks familiar even when it is your fist visit.

We were wandering through Fantasyland in DL (DH's first trip to DL) and all of a sudden we heard familiar music. I knew what and where it was from instantly, but DH asked me "where do I know that music from? Is it from VMK somewhere?" It was the music from the Mad Tea Party guest room.

Amazing how VMK can influence your visits to the parks (aside from the obvious questing)

Very awesome article. Thanks for posting the link!

In regards to the game making the park familiar, even to newcomers: The real beauty of that is that it works both ways. I discovered VMK last year in June right after we had returned from our Disney trip. I wasn't a member of the DIS yet, but I was on disney online just trying to help alleviate that post disney trip let down. I got a pop up for vmk and immediately went to it to log on. I was thrilled to see in the game all the things so near and dear to my heart and recreated so beautifully!

I know they still say the game is targeted to "tweeners" but I firmly believe, especially after the latest edition of the inner space things that they are keeping adults and parents in mind also, maybe more so than they originally thought they would. I would love to know what percentage of their target audience has any clue what inner space is. :rotfl2:
Thanks again for the link, good stuff.

Very True... But they failed to take note of the movie tie-ins as well as the in park, for example some of the music in the Castle Fireworks game is on the Cinderella DVD.

And who can forget the Herbie Fully loaded, High School Musical, and soon to be Pirates cross promotions...

Of course they also stuck to the info, that the "Target age is 8-12", fully missing the fact that a large number of us are... Uh... Ummm.... Well.... A Little Older Than That!!! :teeth:

Interesting article, thanks! On an only slightly related note: there is a new commercial on tv with George Hamilton (tan boy) selling a "baked not fried chip thingy." The music in the background is the same as in Small World Imports. Thought I would lose my mind until I placed it :rotfl2:
