Unfortunatly our trip did not go very well, and I have learned you do not travel w/friends. In the next few days, when I calm down, I will post our trip report.

I'm sorry to hear that you trip didn't go well. Post when you're feeling better!

I feel your pain. First time I went to WDW I travelled with friends .... never again !!!!

Hope your feeling better?

have traveled with friend - very close lifelong friends and boy is it taxing !!!! Michelle

I travelled with two close friends many years ago - NEVER AGAIN!

We didn't speak to eachother for a couple of months after we returned home. Not out of anger, but just burned out from eachother.

Over time things mellowed.

Today we are still very good friends - we just learned our lesson. :)

I am sorry your trip didn't go as planned.

I wish I could say this would only be a temporary thing, but I don't think that it will be. In an arguement she said I "ruined her wedding" (it was the end of July), I did not help her get ready (her husbands whole family was is this tiny little bathroom at the VFW) I stood outside the door, amongst other things. Just a little more backround, I paid for almost most of this trip with the understanding certain things will be payed back at about $100 a month. I have a bad feeling I will not see any of this. The other night I totaled this stuff,(airline tix for her & her daughter, hotel room, a few meals and meds I purchased for her daughter) the total was $703, now I also made a list of things I don't expect to be paid back for and that was over $300 and I thought of other stuff since. I was told that I could take her to small claims court, not ready to do that yet. I also found out the day we were coming home, my mom will have to have open heart surgery on the 25th. I could really go into alot more detail about this but these are the basics.

Darlene, good luck to you. I assume you have been friends for a while ( the wedding). Hopefully things will smooth over. Weddings sometimes bring out the ugly side of people, unfortunately...

Sorry about your mom. Hope that all works out.

Awww, sorry you had a horrible trip. I've had one too, but it was with my grown daughter. Still, a horrible trip so I know how you feel. I paid for the whole thing, and refuse to do that again. And, when we got home, we found out my mother's cancer had returned, this time it was in her brain. She died about six months later. A lot of simularities here.

I'm sorry that your trip did not go as hoped. Take it easy and I'll say some prayers that surgery for your mom goes well.

:grouphug:

Sorry to hear that your trip was ruined. Hope everything turns out the way you want it to.

Take care. :D

Sorry you had to learn this lesson at the expense of a trip to WDW. I would also add anyone outside your immediate family to your description of whom NOT to travel with.
Have read too many frustrating posts from DISers who even tried it with the MIL, FIL, Sister, Brother, etc and it was a nightmare (not always, of course, some of you seem to have it down to a science).

It's just too difficult to accomodate others preferences and gain concensus on everything you need to do.
Chin up. Think of how magical your next trip will be!!

Finding friends you can travel with is a blessing. It's just so crummy that you have to actually do a trip to find out if it's going to be a blessing or a horror!
