Hi everyone. We arrived back last night from our first trip to DLRP and are returning soon for sure!!!
We flew from Edinburgh to CDG with Eayjet and everything went perfectly. We had booked a transfer with RS Transports and our driver was waiting for us as we collected our luggage. The car was clean and had appropriate car/booster seats for our children. The transfer took approx 35mins and our driver pointed out the park as soon as it came into view.
We stayed at the New York where the porters met our car and took our luggage for us. The receptionist informed us that due to the fact all of the standard rooms were full, we were being upgraded to a lake view room
. Our 3rd floor room looked directly down the centre of the ice rink and onto the lake. We were only in our room 1 minute when our luggage arrived. The room was huge with more than enough space for me, DH, DD(7) and DS(3).
Due to us arriving about 5pm, we just unpacked and settled in before heading off to Annettes Diner for dinner. We had purchased the half board plus vouchers before we left and they were a great idea. The portions were huge and our waitress was really helpful. A few of the staff were on skates and half way through our meal we were treated to a full song and dance routine.
We then returned to the hotel to be told that there was to be a surprise in the foyer due to it being Valentines Day. The children settled down on the floor and could not believe their eyes when Mickey, Minnie and Goofy appeared and danced for them. Our DS was then picked by Goofy to dance with him before being joined by our DD and some other children.
We then got to take photos of the kids with the characters and our DD was delighted to get Mickey, Minnie and Goofy as her first 3 autographs.
With all of this in the first 5 hours of arriving, we were certainly looking forward to the next 3 days.
