Hello and Happy New Year to you all -
I need to find the time to write a real trip report, but I wanted to post just a few highlights.
We had an AWESOME trip, 12/26-1/2 at the GF, with our VR 12/28 at Epcot/Italy and then the Mad Hatter Tea Party at the Boardwalk hotel.
Our particulars:
ITALY - SUCH a beautiful location, I can't wait to see the pics and video. Laura did an amazing job with the decor, lots of different gorgeous ribbons on all the chairs, etc.
BOARDWALK - We made the decision to move inside as it was freezing for a couple of days, then got warmer later in our stay. Inside at the BW was actually perfect because of all the little kids we had running around. Would have been much more difficult out on the lawn. The Mad Hatter Decorations were AMAZING!!! A giant caterpillar, cheshire cat, teapot, tea cups, giant flowers, one long table with topiaries and flowers in tea cups and tea pots - all of it just beautiful, they guests were in awe. Which leads me to...
LAURA KYDD - the best, absolute best, so great to work with, helped me in so many ways during planning, the results exceeded my already high expectations. As well as
DIANE BOWEN - so incredibly helpful and professional and willing to go the extra distance for me when I wanted something out of the ordinary, she never flinched, just always figured out how to make it be just what we wanted. Such a pleasure and we were thrilled with what she put together.
REV. JACK - Always a pleasure, as is STAN from STVS.
RANDY CHAPMAN - This was our first time using him, we have always used DPS in the past, he was great to work with and I can't wait to see the photos.
THE CHARACTERS - we had Alice, the Mad Hatter, and the White Rabbit, and they did such a cute set for all the little kids (we have 7 kids at the party, all aged 8 and under), and we had an awesome...
MAGICIAN - he was amazing and did a show for everyone, then did individual tricks with each guest. I had wanted a balloon twister and my husband wanted a magician and hubby was right on - the magician was much more fun.
AND THE DESSERT - The only other thing that DH changed, he didn't want a MH cake, and we had talked about mini-cakes but he hates fondant. I can't wait to post my pics so you can see but it was the CUTEST plate of chocolate molded things...A chocolate tea cup filled with strawberry mousse, a chocolate picture of alice, and a chocolate tea spoon that went with the cup. Everyone was ooohhing and aaahing when they unplated the desserts.
And for all of you that helped with with my "color" dilemma, the brown/blue was beautiful, everyone loved it, so thanks!
We did desserts on the Grand One our first night there, and we went to the CA Grill party for NYE, and I will find time to write a real trip report! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all their help!
