hi all, back last night, still tired today after walking and standing and more walking!
anyway we had a great time the xmas season was as wonderful as I expected, we stayed at the kyriad the shuttle buses were great, room great for what we wanted and all in all for the price we paid we were very impressed (£174 for 2 adults 2 kids)
we bought one day passes at the kyriad and then upgraded to fantasy annual passes at the park, all went smoothly took about twenty mins and they refunded the one day price we paid 404 euros for the 4 passes, used them in all shops and restaurants and got 10% off which added up to an extra saving.
the highlights were the xmas partade, tree lighting ceremony and especially minnie and mickeys winter wonderland ice show which was amazing as we were not expecting the snow!
despite two trips to WDW and a previous trip tp DLRP we had never seen the stunt show and we were all really impressed with it.
the most eye opening thing was the queues, we went to DLP on friday and there was NOBODY there, i mean NOBODY, absolutely no queues, everything was awalk on, except BTM which was ten mins wait, on POTC the staff were asking if people wanted to ride again and telling people to stay seated to ride again! the whole day was amazing, weather very cold and a bit rainy but we got so many rides done we couldn't believe it!
this was not the case on sat or sunday, OH my god! where did all the people come from, it was like visiting in two different seasons! we went to the studios on sat and that was ok, 5 min wait for aerosmith, then back into DLP it was bedlam!
sunday was worse, we went to leave our luggage at the train station and all the lockers were full,, this was at 11am, lots of very very unhappy french people there! we took our case back to the hotel and eventually went into DLP for a few hours, it was jam packed, worse than we had seen in WDW and we have been there over national holidays both times! anyway, it was 60min wait for BTM and phantom manor and 45 mins for POTC.
you really had to be there to see the difference in weekday to weekends, I know I had read about it on the boards but I still wasn,t ready for the difference.
we had a great time and would definately go again in the xmas season but if we went over a weekend again, we would go into paris on the weekend days and leave the massess to fight it out amongst themselves! we woud probably go earlier in november as there were times when we were very very cold
despite the thermals and all the layers!
will try to post some photos when I work out how!
