We had decent seats sitting at the River Belle terrace. Granted, it wasn't too terribly busy in the park that day, but we showed up at the River Belle seating area around 7:30 and grabbed dinner at the Stagedoor Cafe, and sat and ate on the patio there. There was hardly anyone else there when we sat down for dinner. I almost thought something was wrong or the show had been cancelled because I knew there was no way that no one would have taken these seats. We ate slowly, and by the time we were done it was 8:30 (half an hour before the first show) and the placed had definitely filled. We had a pretty good view, although I wouldn't recommend it for a first-timer) and were able to escape the area fairly quickly after the show was over. We did get crowds in front of us, and we were off to the side a little...
The next night we achieved the tri-fecta!!!! (DEP, fireworks, and then Fantasmic) We headed to NOS to grab seats (following tips from the DIS) and had waterfront seats to ourselves, front and center) until 10:15 or so. The CMs were so nice to us while we were waiting and kept us company. DS1 wanted to run around instead of waiting patiently, and one super nice CM played with him almost the entire time! It made for a really great experience. I am not sure that I will ever intentionally catch the 9:00 show because it was just too packed! The later show is definitely easier to get GREAT seats at with VERY LITTLE waiting time! I highly recommend the second show!
