Life has slowed down some and we were looking into purchasing points but was wondering what is new and really, what is upcoming? Should we wait?

Which unit type would you book?
It seems DVC is heading toward incentives to book larger units. If you're looking at studios, better to pause and see what will happen in the next 2-3 years. Points are going up in 2020 and probably the trend will continue.

I would wait a few months and see what effect the drop in the stock market (20% off the year highs of as yesterday) on people’s mindset as to saving for retirement or buying DVC. The price of resale’s may drop a bit.

Good ideas! We will wait and do some more investigating.

We have Aulani but not at the point where we use it every year as we are empty nesters.

Hopefully, you can get your extra points before you need them. Do you typically make reservations at your home resort more than 7 months in advance? If so, you might want to purchase additional points at your home resort so you can continue to do what you are doing and simply extend your stay.
