We’re Coming all the way from the Land Down Under! Jan 2012 PTR

Subscribing. We are arriving a few days before you. I wish it was summer vacation for our kids. We are taking them out of school for a week and I'm worried.

Love the Australian terms for clothing. We will definitely be packing our tracky dacks and sloppy joes!!

We also are going to try and hit WWoHP for one day. I'm uber excited.:cool1: The kids don't know about the trip yet (it's a surprise), so I'm jealous that you get to wake your kids up with images of Disney World.

We did the Kennedy Space Center in 2006 and hoped to catch a shuttle flight but it was postponed too many times for us. I'm so sorry the shuttles are no more, but we had a good time at KSC without a launch. Since the beach was so close (and we got a little lost on the way back to Orlando) we went ahead and did a quick visit. Really gorgeous beaches if you have the time.

I think this was Cocoa Beach. My camera accidentally was set on black and white.

I love your PTR!! Your daughters are lovely!

Thank you! they grow up so quickly. When I look at the photos from 2009 they look so young compared to now. But they are really excited about going to WDW and WWofHP. They are still my babies though my eldest is older than you! Like you though she loves Disney. How could she not she went to Disneyland before she was even born!

I'm jealous you get to surprise your kids. My youngest helped me with the organisation no surprises there.

Cocoa beach! Yes must go there. I have to see where Major Nelson and Jeanie lived!!

Thank you for subscribing. :hippie:

I'm glad you got to see the trip report that was never finished. I have heard that some times Orlando can be in the 70s or low 80s in January. I can only dream :) We are just excited to be going. The girls do not know yet. It will be part of their Christmas gift (and ours). They need nothing. I of course need stuff because I never buy myself much. I teach fourth grade this year. I've been teaching for 16 years. Love the kids, but not the school system. The parents are....fun.

Same the world over it seems...

We both have to make a promise. Next thing we buy is for ourselves not the kids. Ok. And I mean more than just a coffee...:cool1:

93 Days to Go!!:yay:

Subbing in. popcorn::

Great looking PTR and itinerary. :thumbsup2
Thank you. :flower3: I see your from Melbourne. I have been a few times and love it! Great food, great shopping and it's so easy to get around in the city.

I was thinking of making a list of Aussie terms. Sydneysiders often use different terms to Melbournites. Would you say cossie or would you say bathers? Maybe swimsuit?

It was DH's birthday yesterday. He's not old just getting there. Well I thought that was funny but all DD's agreed it wasn't...

I bought him a kindle so he would stop taking mine. Now we are both reading the Game of Thrones books. I love books but we just don't have any more room for new ones and I won't borrow from the library. So a kindle was the answer. I don't know how I ever lived without one.

 Yes, I live in Melbourne. I say bathers and cossies and swimmers and swimsuit interchangeably.

If you're planning on starting a lexicon, head over to the Other Lands section where the Anzacs hang out....I'm sure everyone will be interested to play.

Wish your DH happy birthday....and he's only as old as the woman he feels. ;)

I'm subscribing! Me and my DH are also going in January and its a time we've never been so we are worried about the weather too. We're from Canada so it will be mid-winter in January so I have no idea what to pack. Others have said that even though they are from Canada to pack light sweaters and pants as it can get quite cold even to a Canadian. So I'm thinking of packing pants and a couple pairs of shorts and some light long sleeves and light sweaters with a couple tshirts thrown in just in case. It would be so nice to go to Hawaii. :lovestruc I hope you guys have fun and cant wait to hear about your trip!

You fit in everywhere:goodvibes. BTW I started reading your last PTR and TR. Very inspiring. There's no way I'm going to be as detailed but I plan to write something everyday of our trip and take lots of photos.

Thank you and welcome :hippie:

I think the fact that we are going to Hawaii as well takes away the uncertainty of whether or not to pack shorts and t-shirts as we have to anyway. It also means we will probably need an extra suitcase though:laundy: (I wish there was a packing smilie. I'm using the laundry one here because it kinda fits...)

90 Days to Go!!:goodvibes

Just had a wonderful e-mail from Tracey at Dreams Unlimited. She said that Disney have released discounts on room only ressies so we save $415 on our 4-8 Jan Cabin stay.:dance3:

89 Days to Go!!:flower1:

Subbed by another Aussie! Loving the PTR so far :)

:wave2: and:welcome:

So DD1 spilled nail polish remover on her Macbook Pro. I had to go searching for more smilies 'cause words just can not explain... I think this says it all:

 :crazy2: :badpc: :furious: :drinking: :faint:

As a journalism and creative writing major there is sooo much work on it. This morning she was going for a group interview for Myer Department Store. She was a little nervous and at the last minute realised her black nail polish was somewhat tacky. So with the Mac open on her bed she proceeded to remove the polish. Then she spilled "a little'.

It was still working at first but by the time we got back it wouldn't start up. Hopefully her hard drive can be saved. She will be paying for the repair or (hopefully not) a new one. She needs that new job now. She already works in a fruit shop but is hoping to be put on at Myer as a Christmas casual. She has wanted to save to visit her BFF who is in New York at a Musical Theatre school. This will come first.

I feel sorry for her but it it's carelessness to the umpteeth degree.
