The guy in charge of the Rebel Base on Hoth was:

General J Thaddeus Toad

He was tough and ruthless with his enemies, but treated his troops well and was a very effective leader. He was instrumental in the Rebels escaping Hoth before the Imperial army could capture everyone.

Sadly General Toad was captured by Jabba the Hutt when he went to Tatooine to buy illegal Alderian flies to support his nasty insect habit. Poor Toady actually appeared briefly in Ep3, when Jabba snatched him out of a bowl and ate him.

Kenneth Grahame wrote a book about General Toady's early years and Walt Disney even made a cartoon and ride about him.

As for the recent round of answers....I gotta say...OT does deserve a half-point for creativity for the Gen. Toad answer...only a half-point though because we all know that Gen. Toad was not the leader of the Hoth battle...but he was actually Mauve Leader in the attack against the first Death Star....Mauve Squadron was the little-known squad who was in charge of refreshments and troop morale during the battle....

As for the recent comments about family....
1) AP...we are all glad things are working out for you...and don't worry as long as you are in the South...anything goes Have fun!!! However, if you start to hear banjo music....run!!!!
2)OK...Madonna...What happened at band camp???

My sentiments as well.

I think the whole world is reflecting on this day. I pray for all those families that were directly affected by this unthinkable act. As well as everyone, because all our lives were directly changed as a result of 9/11.

As I have my corn muffin and coffee this morning at home, I remember every day that DH and I had breakfast in a little coffee shop in Tower 1 when we worked across the street from the towers.

I think that they still lack the fire they need to make the playoffs. Their body language isn't very good out there. They need a spark plug. I figued when Ichiro led off the game with a double that they'd score a ton of runs...however, they barely got him in. Actually, he shouldn't have scored on Boonie's grounder to the third baseman. If he'd have thrown it home, Ichiro was toast.

Incidentally, have you ever considered a career in politics? I must say, of your 7.5 points I believe that only two of them came as a result of actually answering the question accurately.
