I just got the green light to go ahead and plan our next years trip from DH  . I mentioned this to my mom, a while ago, and my parents decided to go at the same time we are with my younger siblings. We are going to go the same time but we are going to stay at different resorts and meet up to do some things together but also separate to do our own thing. I am just the worry wart of the world and I am already wondering how this can work. If we are on separate ressies can we make a few dinner ADRs together? Has anyone out there taken a trip like this, that can give me a fewords of advice?

I have not taken a trip like this, but wil in Jan 08. DH, me, DD6, DD7, and DD12 plus to of the oldest friends both 11. When we have told friends and family a few of them (2 friends and sil, bil, and their 2 month old) have decided to come along at the same time. We will most be apart, but made a few ADR together. So far we have needed multiple tables at the places we wanted to eat, but requested them close to each other so we can have an adults table and a kids table. I too am a worry wart and am not sure how it will work out, but it is exciting to share the experience with family.

We did this on our last trip. We had my family (me,dh, 3 kids), my older sisters family (sister, her dh, 3 kids), and my younger sister with her 1 dd. We all arrived on different dates but all stayed at POP. We arrived a couple days before them so they ended up in the same hotel area while ours was different which was just fine. My younger sister hung with us a majority of the time but we only met up with my older sister and her family at a few meals and later in the day sometimes for rides and it worked out great. The one thing you should be aware of though is that you shouldn't plan to spend quality time together at meals since most restaurants cannot seat large amounts of people at one table. At every restaurant we booked they had to put us at two sometimes three different tables. Some places like whispering canyon were able to accomodate us when we asked and put us together (we loved that place). Other places like Donalds Breakfast was just too crowded to do so. So depending on how many siblings you have one table may not be able to accomodate all of you. We loved meeting up for fireworks and parades and for extra magic hours. We also spent the whole Christmas party as a group. You guys can have a great time together as long as you are on the same page as far as how much together time you want.

Thanks for the replies. There will be 8 of us total and since we are staying at 2 separate resorts I think that we will mostly meet up at the parks. The kids will be old enough to be able to handle sitting at a different table than the adults. I am glad to hear the Whispering Canyon can seat us together as this one my favorite meal of our last trip and I would love to take the family there.
