Hi all! I am taking advantage of the Disney package in Feb , we are going to stay at PopCentury. However this will be the first time that I will go with a baby. My other kids, I never took until they were at least 2. My baby will be 10 months old when we go. We are veteran DIS'ers, but I am not quite 100% certain that I want to take the baby with us. Part of me does, to see hes reaction, and I am not sure if we will be able to continue going to the parks ( I may lose my job) The other part of me cringes when I think about diapers, formula, wipes strollers etc etc etc..............WWYD?

Advice appreciated.

We took our 3 year old and 6 month old baby last month. We had a great time. She absolutely love the Pooh ride. And honestly I think she was easier to handle than the 3 year old. We drove from Wisconsin and brought our own diapers and formula. But if we had flown, I would have stopped off at a store and picked them up. We had a small diaper bag that I put only the items I needed for the trip to the park. I never over filled it. If your baby is easy going, you shouldn't have a problem.

Heck yeah - do it!

Then again, I'm taking three kiddos.

We packed the diapers in a small suitcase with wipes and other items (sippies, etc). I breastfeed, so formula is never an issue ;)
but there are baby care centers for bottle warming and what not.
Plus, by 10 months your baby might not be needing so many bottles and will likely be eating a lot of solids and such during the day - even eating from the table, I'd think - which would be really easy to do if you order a cup of veggie soup or something for them.

Anyway - the reason we did the small suitcase was so it would be empty for the return flight home (for souveniers!!!) :)

You can also have items shipped to your hotel (drugstore.com sells diapers and formula...as would netgrocer.com I imagine). You could also wait and just pick that stuff up at Publix or wal-mart when you arrive in Orlando.

Personally, I couldn't leave one of my girlies - especially to go to a kid-friendly place - for any amount of time :D The looks on their faces are reward enough!

Oh - stroller is no biggie either - just get a lightweight umbrella stroller that folds in one motion - easy peasy! You can even check it at the gate when you board the plane!!!

Well, I will be there with a 10 month old also, it looks like the week before you (1/31-2/5).
It was just too good a deal to pass up while 2 of ours are under 3 and our oldest dd turns 10 in March.
(Only pay for one child when you have 5??? Dh volunteers to take you all to WDW??? ::yes:: That's a no brainer!)
So if our paths should cross, give me a little thumbs up, and I'll do the same for you. :wave2:
I'll be the one with a 9 yo dd, 7 yo ds, 4 yo ds, and 2 yo ds and a 10 mo. dd in a double stroller. Probably with a goofy look of satisfied exhaustion on my face! :faint:
See you there

Thanks for the reassurance folks. I appreciate it. My hubby thinks I am nuts to want to take him with us. Half of me agrees! LOL We are driving down, so lugging stuff around is not an issue. I just dont want to go, be miserable and have DH give the I told you so look! LOL You know the one!

Disneymom5, you are leaving on the day we arrive! LOL truthfull we will probably leave on the 4th and get a hotel on priceline for the night, and get over to PopCentury as early as poss to get our passes.

Those of you who have done it, did you go back to hotel for naps? My baby is very easy going, but I still don't know how he will react to the world! LOL

He is already a Mickey baby. everytime he sees my watch (mickey watch from mousegears) he grabs ahold of it and stares! LOL

We just got back a couple weeks ago and my youngest DD was 13 months. Though my DD was a few months older than yours, I still had to mess with diapers, wipes, etc. We did not go back for naps...we did a full day of the parks. She was fine. I did, however, invest in a few things before the trip that I'm so glad that I did. 1. A lightweight stroller that fully reclines. She napped very well in this! 2. Disposable placemats. You may want to consider these if your baby is starting to feed himself. 3. A baby carrier. My DD got tired of always being in the stroller and this carrier really saved my back from carrying her all around.

We had a very nice trip and I would never have considered not taking her or not going at all. Good luck to you. While it's still not easy with a baby...it's still very enjoyable IMHO!
