Okay, I just tried to get a price for Jan 20-26, 2008....and it acknowledged the month of Jan but said that they had no rooms available and to change my dates and/or resort....tried a couple different ways with the same result....maybe this means the release of prices is very soon...perhaps today!!:yay:
Did anyone else get that message for 2008 prices?

Just tried for the last week of April/first week of May for 2008 and got the same response. I'm taking that as a positive sign that perhaps by this afternoon we can begin booking for 2008. My fingers are crossed! :dance3:

I checked the Wonderful Weeks of Disney for 'winter' and Jan 2008 comes up (without a price :sad1: it says to call to book your reservation) but it does show P&PP! Hopefully that means they will be having it in Jan again! My DS didn't go to WDW this past Jan. and he missed out. It also mentions YMD 'celebration soars to life'....I thought it ended 12/31?

Now the fun is trying to use what little information we have to figure out what the pricing will look like :)

Here's my analysis for AKL (and yes, it proves that I'm a geek who's overly excited):

2007 prices range from 215-460. 2008 prices range from 225-540.

Since we don't know exactly how everything in between lines up, the best assumption to make is a linear interpolation. In other words, we use a little algebraic elbow grease, and find that, given x, the 2007 price of a room, we expect the 2008 price, y, to be approximately y = 9/7 * x - 51.

So, I'm expecting my 2007-priced room of $325 to go for $366 next year.

Of course, this assumes that all days of week are equal prices. If we have a weekend-difference price structure in place (which might help to explain the sharp increase from 460 to 540 on the high end), then this analysis fails miserably. But at least I can feel like I'm that much closer to knowing :)

I was trying to book my trip for Feb 3-9 and it kept telling me no rooms were available, so I had a live chat with a Disney CS rep and she told me to try room only reservations. I tried and got the same result. I asked when packages would be available and she said by the end of the month. :confused3
