Day 3 continued

We got to Walmart and MIL decides she's going to just park herself and a cart in one area and send DH running for everything. I don't understand why he does it. My mother wouldn't do this, so I don't get it I guess. I did mention that she's only 49 too. She's way too young to be living this way.

Anyhow, DH wants water shoes for TL. The only problem is. The smallest size we could find was a 13. They also had 14's & 15's. Nothing else. Not even empty bins for them. I don't know they must grow men w/ some big feet in Florida!!! DS is in an 11 and the 13's just were too big. So we are heading to Payless afterwards. Where we find they don't even have water shoes. So we end up at Bargain world. Where they had a huge selection. MIL decides she needs a pair for TL too. So once the watershoes are secure we are back to the hotel for any early night. Which is good. In spite of using sunscreen I got a little sunburned and I was mentally wore out.

I can't even imagine what your trip must have been like (though you are describing it well). I just realized that your MIL is the same age as my mom and I can't even imagine her acting like this. She seems more like my 70+ grandmother than my 49-years-young mother.

I hope your return trip makes up for this one!

Everyone says that at work when I talk about her. They can never believe that she isn't 20-30 yrs older than she is!!!

I'm 52 and my MIL is 86. We have to fight with her to use her cane, and handicap parking? "That's for people who can't walk!":teeth: I have been married for 31 years, and I am definitely blessed with my MIL.

My grandmother just turned ninety and uses a walker and I'm sure that even she would not go on like your MIL did.
