Hi, I am going with my aunt and uncle next March to the World and we are taking their 14 months old son. Any tips or suggestions or help in general about what to expect and do with him. I am going to help them with my godson and hopefully give them time to ride all the "grown up" rides, as I am going again in June. Anything would be great.

I went with my baby sister who was a year back in June on our trip and she had a blast. Some rides she did were:
MK:
TTA
Winnie the Pooh
Snow Whites Scary Adventure
PotC
HM
EPCOT:
SE
Journey into Imagination
El Rio Del Teimpo
MGM:
Playhouse Disney
Great Movie Ride
Little Mermaid
Muppet Vision 3D
AK:
KS
FNtM
FotLK
ITtbaB

She did all those rides and had a blast as for the characters we let her view them from a distance and we would move closer to them and if she started to scream we would pull her away. The only character's she screamed at were Mickey Mouse and Tigger but since we've been home she's been saying Mickey Mouse and stamping her feet when she see's him of excitement.

We took our DD for the second time at about that age and it was great. There are a ton of rides she could actually go on especially at MK and MGM. One thing that we have loved on all or our trips is the baby center. Each park has one and it is a nice place for diaper changes and just an escape from the heat. Also, we found that some of the shows made for a perfect air conditioned napping opportunity (ie. Hall of Presidents, O Cananda, etc.).

My son was 15 Months when we went to Disney last year. He loved just about everything in Fantasyland. He was an early riser, so I even took him to the park one morning while my DH and DD slept in. We had a great time!

My brother and his family met us in the park later in the day when they woke up, but I really enjoyed the time that we had together. We rode Small World 3 times in row because he was enjoying it so much.

Other mornings, to allow my husband and daughter time to sleep in, we would take a bus to MK and then we rode the boats and the monorail together.

Have fun!

Yes......

make sure the stroller fully reclines and has a big basket and cup holders.

Also bring a carrier, not the backpack kind, to carry baby in on rides and in lines and shows. There are plenty of places to go that the stroller cant.

Get some Table Toppers. These are presterlized mats that you can put on tables for the baby to eat finger foods off of.

Bring a hat that is soft brimmed, so baby can sleep without banging inot the brim of a baseball hat.

Shoes. Definately bring shoes for the baby. The yuckiest thing I ever saw at Disney was on the trip that my new white shoes got filthy. There was a little barefooted girl waiting in line for a boat unconciously rolling a cigarette butt between her toes.....ewwwww.

Thanks for all the great tips...we are so looking forward to the trip and seeing it through his eyes for the first time. I have another question to add...what do you guys do about the plane ride and the child's ears. How has your child handled the ear problem/pain, and what can we do to help him with his ears/popping.

Swallowing pops ears. So have a juice box or something handy and give it to the baby when the plane takes off and when the announce final approach for landing (or if baby gets fussy during decent).
