WDW vrs. CELL PHONE

I use PINGO.com for a calling card. I do all my long distance calls thru them. Year around.

The rates are amazing.. And everything is spelled out on their website. No surprises... and no connection charges for each call.

Carefull with Bell Mobility -- their website says the following :

" International text messages are not included in the Text Messaging bundles. * International text messages must originate in Canada "

In other words.. sending a text message from the states may incur additional charges if you haven't got some kind of package for roaming.

That's so true.... Now i'm off to check out PINGO.com and see what they are all about. Thanks everyone.

2weeks ago I checked directly with Bell mob. about the charges/procedures for long distance text messaging. If your phone is on a regular(monthly bill) plan than you are fine. If you are a pre-paid customer you have to sign up for the automatic top up. This will enable your phone to roam. That's it. There are no extra charges. When they say "International" they are referring to overseas not North America.

That's an awesome setup.

Rogers wireless charges 40c per text message sent from the U.S... while roaming.. whether the receiver is in the U.S or Canada.

With Rogers there is no minimum length you must agree to keep their USA Roaming Add On package.

Since my trip spans two billing cycles.. I usually have it for two months.. which is 120 minutes. Perfect.

Hi. Sister inlaw just told us that in Florida you can buy a cell phone with so many minutes then throw it away when minutes are done. A disposable one, just like cameras.

Where does your sister inlaw buy her phone in Florida?

Tracfones are sold at Walmart, Rite-Aid and a bunch of other retailers listed on the Tracfone website.

I used to live in Florida and had a couple of different pay-as-you-go phones. The first I had was T-Mobile which was alright... I don't recall disliking it but, umm, my phone fell in the toilet.. :D

Afterwards I bought a virgin phone online. The phone cost $40 with free shipping. It was on a special so it also came with $40 of phone credit! As a bonus for activating my account online, I got an extra $5 in credit. Virgin ships only to US addresses, but when my phone broke when I went back to Canada I just had my [free] replacement shipped to my hotel the next time I was in Florida. I primarily used the phone for texting, so can't quite remember the rates on calls. It's all written out on their website, however.
