Hi Everyone,

Really want to start getting moving on plans for our 3 week trip next year July 2009.

WDW UK have got the new 2009 prices out - can anyone tell me if these look reasonable please? (was thinking of staying possibly 1 week at POP - and 4 or 5 nts at Yahct club?? unless anyone has any better combo's - that would then be followed by the rest of our stay at a villa or cruise if we could stretch to it.

The prices look reasonableto me, but then i have to think of how much the flight for 4 of us (DH, me, DS (15) and DD (7) would be on top aswell, and theres hardly any flights available at the mo, and im worried if i book the accom now, that im goin to get stung with the flydrive price.

HELP??!!!

we got rooms for pop this year from the usa.phoned them and used an AAA discount, just gave them the AA number as there afilliated with AAA through ARC
Got rooms at pop for£36.50 a night for 2 addults and 2 children(17 and under)
saving i think on uk disney about £6-£8 per night
Look on the codes section of these boards and look at www.mousesavers.com for discounts when there out

Codes section???

Have found mousesavers thanks.

WE get our AA cover free with our debit card, so dont have an AA acct number as such, do you think we would still qualify?

I would have a look at booking the rooms direct with Disney in the US. They require a deposit equal to 1 nights room rate which is fully refundable up to 5 days before your arrival. You would need to pay 2 deposits for a split stay.

So if you need to change your dates because of flights there would be no penalty.

I'm not sure that they have released their 2009 proces yet though

Hi sorry to hijack this thread but i'm wondering exactly how do i go about getting a room discount using my AA membership?

Another way of making a saving is to book direct in $$$ with a credit card that has no fees for international transactions (such as the Nationwide CC).

This way you get a much better exchange wait :)

When I checked the US site for our booking next Feb, even with the excellent exchange rate it still worked out cheaper using the UK site. The only problem with using UK site is that you have to pay 1/4 of total as deposit and then the balance 2 months before you arrive. I guess it's really down to what suits you best.

The rates quoted on the US site at the moment are slightly inflated as they haven't yet released their 2009 prices. I think it's about August. They adjust the rate once released. Booking now means yoiu have the room reserved not the rate. I think they do it this way so that nobodys prices increase once the actual rates are released.

Also you have a chance of having a code applied if any are released for you dates when bookin with the US site. :)

Thanks for the above answer, I was wondering why in all the post I've read people were saying that the US site was cheaper.
Can I apply any of the discount codes now I've booked via the UK site? Will the US call centre be able to find my details?

No unfortunately you cannot apply codes from Disney in the US to a UK booking.

That's one reason we book as much as possible in the US as they have so much more flexibilty.

I don't know why it is that once UK tour ops have got your deposit they want to charge you a fee to change anything.
