Mother's Day Weekend Brunch with the guys
Disney is using Mother's Day to test, of all things, a character meal aimed at boys. We're now hearing that the Mother's Day Brunch at Epcot is featuring Disney Heroes, including Mickey Mouse, Aladdin, Hercules, Beast, Peter Pan, and others. Priority Seatings for Saturday, May 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, May 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. are going fast, and can be booked by calling 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463).

Oooh, my DS would REALLY enjoy this. At 7 years old, he is not really 'into' the Princesses yet, and we've done Chef Mickey's and Donald's several times. I hope they still have it next Feb when his next trip is going to be.....

Maybe they are actually trying to feature 'Hunks for Mom"? Many of the characters you mentioned(Beast, Hercules) sounded like 'hunks'...well, except for maybe Peter Pan, who will never grow up & is therefore ineligible for romance .

I like the idea of a boy-friendly character meal, but IMO think that a boy-friendly character meal would likely include Buzz & Woody from Toy Story, Mike & Sully from Monsters Inc, etc.

I'm surprised that Disney never considered this before.. Boys love Disney too and everything revolves around the princesses..

I think it's a GREAT idea - and long overdue!!

Good for them--now do you think they could have picked a less expensive time to debut it....Mother's day is one much more than traditional character buffet meals. But I guess they must start somewhere.
