I am trying to plan a trip to WDW and Vero for next April and I need your guys advice. Would it be better to book WDW (hopefully, OKW) first and then finish the trip at Vero or vice versa and head to Vero first and finish off at WDW?

I am thinking that WDW first and then finish off with a nice relaxing stay at Vero would be the way, but I would like to hear from you experienced Vero crew. Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated.

TIA

P.S. Sorry, if this is a duplicate post. I thought I posted this earlier, but can't find it. Maybe I didn't hit "submit"

...depends on when you want to chill. After a hectic park visit or before. We tend to think Vero's better on the front end. You get to anticipate the parks and it beats hearing the kids complain that they wish they were still there.

We did a WDW/VB trip in Feb. We enjoyed that route would do it again. Three days of non stop disney then fun and relaxation :sunny: at the beach. A great combo.

We do WDW first and then head for the beach! We've done it 3 times like that!

I know its not just us saying "We need a vacation from our vacation"! We love going to Vero after the parks. It gives you a chance to recover and relax before heading back to the "real world"!

I'm with Holly. WDW, then VB. Relaxation after the parks is the way to go IMO. I have also heard others do VB then WDW because after several days of relaxation they were ready to carry on at the parks. All depends on what your mindset is I suppose.

Something else to consider-- you can take ME to WDW, then back to the airport but instead of flying out you could rent your car there to go to VB (save some big $$ on car rental)! Of course I suppose the opposite could work too, if you're flying in that is.

Wow! I never considered renting a car at WDW and driving to Vero!!! I'm trying to talk my husband into driving our next trip and stopping at Vero on the way back (we live in NY and he prefers to fly, which counts Vero out - I like the idea of having our own car in WDW and not rely on the busses). Renting a car :drive: for part of the trip gives us some compromise room!!!

Thanks everyone for the tips and thoughts.

If we did WDW first I was thinking of taking ME into the resort, then renting a car at WDW to drive to Vero. I am a Avis renter through our company and Avis has a location at the Disney Hilton right outside of DTD. I had to drop a car off there once. Actually worked out well. Dropped it off then walked over to the bus stop at DTD to catch a bus back to OKW. Probably do something similar just in the opposite direction.

It may work out differently in each case, but we priced out renting a car from the airport for the whole time verses renting from the car care center before our VB portion of our vacation. The difference was very small and we decided having it the whole time sounded easier.

Last month we actually did a small trip to WDW in the middle of our VB trip. We spent two days at VB then 2 days (one night) at the Poly, and then three more days at Vero. It broke it up quite nicely, and I'd think about doing this again.

PS - For the one night we were also still booked at Vero so we didn't do multiple check in and check outs at VB. This is the only way I'd do it again.

We've done it both ways... before and after...

We tend to prefer it after because of the chance to unwind after a hectic week of park hopping...

But that being said.. I will take VB time anytime I can get it.. :teeth:

Let's see...the first time we did a "combined" trip I think we did WDW first and Vero last and it was great(no kids - 25th anniversary trip). But this time we're doing Vero first (on our own without the kids) and WDW second (with the kids and grandkids) and then staying on ONE night after they leave to transfer over to one property (not sure which yet) to do a dinner and a spa treatment to "decompress" before we head for home. We'll have to let you know which one works better...but I don't think it matters, both are heavenly!

We've always gone to VB after WDW. The drive down there is a chance to unwind. However, the trip back to MCO seems quite long and depressing ... we now make one last stop by DTD to refresh our memories
