Orlando, FL (April 1) - The Walt Disney Company (DIS) announced in a press conference on Friday, April 1, 2005, plans for a new theme park attraction based on the lovable character known as "Stitch." Stitch became a family-hit after being introduced in the feature motion picture Lilo and Stitch. The ride is to be named "Stitch's Great Escape (Part II)."
In 2004, the Walt Disney Company introduced "Stitch's Great Escape," an adventure that quickly gained many fans. Children as well as adults raved about the ride and how it exemplifies Disney excellence.
"Stitch's Great Escape is the reason that I come to Disney World. He is just such a loveable character and a great role model," stated one excited Stitch fan. "He is just an excellent role-model."
"I think that guests are able to relate with Stitch very well, which is a reason that we are creating this new ride," stated CEO Micheal Eisner.
The new ride will feature a 180-minute adventure with Stitch as he will emit new smells, sounds, and will stimulate your senses. The feature attraction is expected to replace Splash Mountain, however keep with the log-flume idea. In the new ride, Stitch eats not 1 chili-dog, but 10. And if you thought he was crazy in the previous show, you are in for a treat!
"Essentially, the ride will be 180 minutes of just Stitch jumping and burping in a boat. I think that our profits will be maximized," responded Eisner when asked about the ride.
The ride is expected to be completed in December 2005. This year, instead of having the "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party," guests will be able to attend "Stitch's Very Merry Christmas Party."
