WDW to Port of Miami transport

We are cruising on the Magic in December out of Miami and staying a few days at WDW before the cruise.

Right now I have a rental car reserved for the morning of the cruise and plan to get an early start and drive to the Port.

Has anyone else stayed at WDW and then cruised from Miami - are there better ways to get to the Port aside from a rental car?

Can't really think of any. It is about a 3 hour drive so not many services operate from the parks to Miami. I heard of one regional bus but can't remember what the price or scheduling was like.

A rental car would be the quickest, and easiest way. I believe I've read where there's some sort of bus/shuttle service available, but you'd have to get yourself to the pick up point, and then to the port at the drop off point.

We are doing the same thing in December. This was the cheapest easiest route I could find.

there are shuttle services but if you are OK driving a rental that's your best way 99 times out of 100 . . .

(btw ... the shuttle service I was gonna link as an option is out of business . . . .)
