WDW to Pompano Beach?

Okay you natives...here's my issue. My dd and I will be in WDW in mid Jan (12-18). My dad and step-mom will be in Pompano Beach at that time..they are true snowbirds and will be leaving Mass for Fl on Nov 15, and won't return until April/May. They really want us to come down and stay with them for a day or two, and then catch a flight home from Ft. Lauderdale. No biggie. But, having never made that particular drive, I'm curious as to the quickest route, and how long it's going to take me. I'm a peppy driver but a bit less so on roadways I'm unfamilier with. So...any advice as to route, timing, etc??

It's been about 10 years since I lived in Margate(just west of Pompano), but if memory serves the drive should be about 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Simply get on the FL Turnpike, it will involve tolls(sorry no idea how much anymore). If you want to cut your tolls you can transfer to I95 at several places, Ft. Pierce and Jupiter are pretty easy. I95 has no tolls but often has alot more traffic.

FL Turnpike will get you there the easiest. According to Google Maps it's exit 67. The turnpike is a really easy road, seldom has bad traffic outside of Orlando and the Miami areas at ruch hour--so avoid that and you'll be fine. I'd plan on it taking about four hours from WDW, but as the PP said, it could be as little as 3 1/2. It takes me longer because there's a Starbucks at most of the rest areas.

We have done the FLL/MCO flights many times. It's an easy drive. About 3.5 hours. We took 95 and the Tpke. Enjoy!!!
