Wdw to Hilton head - driving

We left the World today - decided to spend one night at HH to give it try and figured it was kinda half way for us. I know I read somewhere there was a back way the takes you off 95 before Savannah? Anyone have any clue what I am talking about?

I think that was in reference to routes for those headed south on I-95 before you get to Savannah where there are some back roads that cut off some interstate. I'm not aware of any worthwhile routes headed north on I-95 before you get to Savannah.

I think you'll want to take exit 8 (Hardeesville) once you get into SC past Savannah. That is route 278 and takes you right onto HH. It's about 1/2 hour to the resort once you get off I-95.

That's the exit we took last week when we came up from Jacksonville. I don't know of any other way. I just wish there was a way to avoid the almost 40 miles of construction on I-95 just north of Jacksonville. So am I to assume you're at HHI now? Eating the cranberry nut cookies?

We still have about an hour in the car so we are not quite there yet. I will be sure to look for said cookies though. Thanks for the confirmation on the directions. The weather sure is nicer here than that cold rain falling today at wdw.
