We are in the process of moving across the country and will soon be living in California for the next four years! We are planning a trip to Disneyland and California Adventures and we have friends coming out to join us for their first time in any Disney park. I have not been to Disneyland since I was a kid so I did no planning at all for that trip. My questions is, what are some must do/ must see attractions in Disneyland. I am so used to planning for WDW and haven't been to Disneyland in so long I feel like I need some help in planning. I don't want to overwhelm our friends either lol! It will be my husband (first timer), myself, our two and a half year old (first timer), our friends and their six year old daughter and four year old son (all of them are first timers!)

Check out the Hydroguy sticky at top of page for WDW vets heading to DL.

Don't miss: Pirates (way better than WDW version), IASM (way better than WDW version), Carsland in CA, IJA (no real comparison at WDW-Dinosaur has same ride system), Circle Tour with DL Train-so much more to see along the way than at MK, really check out the sticky. So much to do and see, about the same as all 4 WDW parks combined at DL and CA. Have a great trip.

The Grand Circle Tour on the train IS amazing....but the trains are down for the foreseeable future to re-route the track for Star Wars Land. Current assumptions are that the trains will be running again next year sometime.

Thank you! We will be in Cali for at least four years so I will be sure to check that out when it reopens!
